Classifieds / Advice on selling graphic novels
10 April, 2021, 01:21:02 PM
I'm considering selling off my collection of TPBs/Graphic Novels (all Judge Death related).  It's the usual mix with Necropolis 1 and 2, various reprints of the early stories, Young Death, the Batman ones and also some curios such as the Extreme issue and various other megazines, comics featuring JD and the DJs.

Would I be better off selling as separate lots or as one collection?  I do all my selling on eBay of course but is that the best place?

I don't know why but buying tech is so difficult now.  You can't just read a review because there are like 90% 5 star reviews and then a bunch of 1 star ones that sound honest and tell you that bit of tech won't work and will likely slaughter your family.

I'm currently looking to replace my not-good Lenovo all in one PC thing.  Pros:  being all in one is quite handy.  Cons:  slow, noisy, rubbish, touch screen stopped working.

All I want is a PC for doing web design, browsing and some Office stuff but with the option for it to be good for Photoshop and a little light video editing (my all in one tends to go to pieces when trying to process any visual effects).

Gaming isn't a priority at all as I'm strictly a console gamer, although the ability to emulate PS2 would be nice.

My requirements are that it isn't too big (a mid-sized tower is fine, plainer the better), it supports two monitors, is quiet, boots up quickly and is reasonably future proof.

Anyone got a recommendation?

Links / The Scream Comic Files
21 April, 2020, 10:18:33 AM
Having almost finished the Judge Death website I've been working on, I decided that Scream! needs an updated website in light of all the recent specials and some of the other info out there from podcasts and interviews.  Also, there's a bunch of info from It's Ghastly that would fit in well too.

So I've set up www.screamcomic.co.uk and have made a start on it.

Fun fact:  Issue 5 came out 36 years ago today.

It's a bit bare at the moment but keep an eye on it and if anyone has any juicy info about Scream! that I should include, please let me know.  As with The Judge Death Files I just want a really good resource.

Obviously, respect due to Back From The Depths for doing this first.  I'm going with a different vibe for my site (and I won't be including full scans as I don't want to break any copyright rules) and hopefully my site will end up being a useful resource for fans.

Classifieds / Free: Planet Death supplement thing.
06 April, 2020, 08:39:28 PM
Hey there, in my efforts to collect a bunch of Judge Death stuff, I ended up with 'Planet Death' which is nothing to do with him.

I think it's a supplement thing from a Megazine.

As such it has no value to me.  But if it has value to you, I'll post it out.  Give me a shout if you want it.  Don't worry about postage either.

Hi all.

I've mentioned my site on here before but I've just finished my bibliography of all Judge Death comic story appearances.  Every story has been written up with a couple of scans at least on the vast majority of them.

http://judgedeath.co.uk/bibliography

I'll stop spamming it now but just wanted to let the community on here know that it's as complete as I can get it until any other stories get published.  And thanks to those of you who have helped me track down stories, engaged on the help thread and liked/retweeted things on Twitter.  I appreciate all the support.

Help! / Judge Death appearances
01 February, 2020, 07:24:55 PM
I've mentioned my site on the forum and I don't want to bleat on about it but i do want it to be as complete as possible.

I was just looking on eBay and spotted two things I don't know about.

1.  The 2019 Subscriber-only Poster Prog.  Is this a new JD story, has it been reprinted?  I just bought it (on eBay) but it'll be a while before it arrives.

2.  Plagues of Necropolis.  This doesn't come up in the Wiki or JD mentions on Barney.  Is JD in it?  He's on the cover (again, just bought it).

While I'm here, am I missing anything on my bibliography?  http://judgedeath.co.uk/bibliography

I hope you don't think I'm trying to mention the site too much.  I'll limit it to here if I have queries.

thanks!

Sorry if already posted (couldn't find it) and if this isn't the place for it but it looks like they are including a reprint comic of The Nightcomers in the next Megazine.

My friend gave me the heads up so I'm just passing it on.

I'll be all over this.  My Scream! collection is pretty good.  I've got 1-15, all five specials and most of the Hibernia and Rebellion recent stuff.  I'm only missing that Monster reprint and the hardback of Dracula Files I think.

Wasn't a huge fan of Nightcomers at the time, it replaced Terror of the Cats which I was more into (despite it being TOTAL NONSENSE) but I love that Scream! is still getting reprint love all these years later.

EDIT:  can you pre-order this btw?

Welcome to the board / Hi 2KADF!
30 January, 2020, 07:35:13 PM
Hi there.  I just got my full posting privileges and so I figured I'd say hello properly.  As you might have seen, I've been putting together a website dedicated to the entire timeline of Judge Death.  First became aware of him when I was quite young.  My friend's older sister had a graphic novel of the second Judge Death story and I loved it.

Fave character has always been Judge Mortis.

Aside from that I was a huge fan of Scream! growing up.

These days I mostly post elsewhere about '80s movies, horror anthology/portmanteau films, ZX Spectrum games and I run a PS4 review site.

Looking forward to chatting with you folks.

Books & Comics / The Thirteenth Floor / Eagle question
25 January, 2020, 07:36:39 AM
Does anyone here know how long The Thirteenth Floor ran for in Eagle?  I know it wasn't in the final issue, but not sure what issue it last featured in.

Ta!

Games / Jydge
24 January, 2020, 03:51:22 PM
I noticed a mention of this in the copyright infringement thread but it's worth a mention here too.

I really like Jydge.  It's a top-down twin-stick shooter that has a bit of a 10p Judge Dredd thing going on but after a while that doesn't really matter.  The main thing about it is the rogue-lite elements and the really good upgrade system.

And more importantly, the brilliant level design.  That's where it really impressed me.  The levels are so tightly designed, especially on harder difficulties.

Worth a look if you see it dirt cheap in the PSN sales one day.
