Prog / prog 2377: Come fry with me!
06 April, 2024, 12:30:34 PM
its been a while since we had a generic tharg being tharg cover....seems almost nostalgic. its cliff robinson so you know its good.

Dredd, indigo prime and proteus vex continue on.

full tilt boogie ends book 2 with a tagline that the next book may well be its last. it will be replaced next prog by brink book six so thats exciting

Aquilla returns it feels like an age since we last saw it luckily the nerve centre has a story so far blurb so that was kinda helpful

all in all pretty good prog all round

Dredd starts in medias res to the point i actually though my issue was missing a page or two but nope

Terror tale feels like a lead in to a longer story

indigo prime wacky as all heck this week mash up dimension indeed :D

full tilt boogie and proteus vex continue

Prog / Prog 2318: Hag Team!
06 February, 2023, 02:19:40 PM
Tuesday prog yay!

Dredd: kind of takes a turn this week I kinda wish i saw coming also alien cat thing is def using furball as a standin for fuck

joe pineapples: I actually liked this week mostly due to blackblood as soon as we move away from him it goes meh again

Both the out and the order continue to be great.

I have not read vex mostly cause i am saving that strip for a full read when it ends vex kind of works better read all in one

Megazine / Meg 446: Royal Blood
25 July, 2022, 01:37:32 PM
An entire week and no thread for the meg? well i need to rectify that.

First of all I think i have said it before and I will say it again the new hookjaw is both too soon to reprint in a floppy and it also deserves its own trade. Okay on to the strips

Dredd: I kinda agree with maitland all that build up and thats it?!?

Death cap

the second strip in a row where i ask is that it? lovely boo cook art though

anderson: really enjoying this current story especially the art

black museum: I really liked this one the moral is kinda obvious "greed is bad" but i really liked it

lawless continues to be the highlight of the meg as it always is every month

Prog / Prog 2289: Shotgun Diplomacy
04 July, 2022, 07:56:12 AM
Saturday prog holy crud i wish i got this written sooner but i was not informed i had said prog until this morning

brink and skip continue and hope ends on a cliffhanger.

New dredd story which deals with the fallout between the meg and brit cit after that athlantis tunnel incident last year.

and this kinda surpised me but tharg says in the nerve centre that the section of bulletopia which starts in this prog is the penultimate part and well i guess we'll see in the coming weeks but it doesn't feel like a penultimate part at the moment

Prog / Prog 2203: Order and rule
12 October, 2020, 11:42:56 AM
Lets go in order shall we?

Cover: Nice moody Dredd image by Jake Lynch

The nerve centre reveals a venus blue genes story in the next regened prog which is coming in 3 progs time. oh and we are getting a dredd story involving ichabods talking horse next prog.

Dredd: I get the feeling that the end of the world is just the start of something bigger for mega city 1 which is insane since it was the end of the world after all.
Maitland survives the story surprisingly i thought she was gonna be a goner but is now on the councils shit list
Stickleback is so good guys i am so happy it returned!

Skip tracer is not good however but the rest of the prog is amazing so it balences out.

Fiends intrigues me at the moment with the backstory which i am very much finding interesting

Hookjaw....wow....just....wow

also some ultimate collection news but i stuck that in the ultimate collection thread so if you are curious check it out there

Prog / Prog 2187: Worlds of wonder
22 June, 2020, 12:40:39 PM
I wanna personally kill my postman for treating my prog like one of those leaflets chipshops post through doors. my poor prog was mangled. Cover is the Mark Harrison The out one seen in last weeks meg. anyway on with the show

Dredd: Dredd assembles his cannon fo...err fellow judges for his mission to kill the four horsemen. We meet famine....thats a pretty awesome look for famine...also hell of a cliffhanger

Full tilt boogie: Genuinly love this series

The out: Err....umm i dunno what to say about this one just yet.

The order rules. I absolutely adore it and all its insanity.

Diaboliks continues to be good

I am sorry this is so short why i may not be sure about the out just yet everything else is fantastic this prog

Prog / prog 2184 End Times A-Coming
01 June, 2020, 03:19:35 PM
no arnie in sight but a corking line up

Future shock: Yes i am going in reverse but theres a reason for that. but yeah funny future shock saw the twist coming a mile away still liked it.

The Diaboliks: its like caballistics never left us love it love it more please!

The order would be my favourite thing in a normal prog but tbh this isn't a normal prog

Sin/dex: Bulletopia begins with a bang and I really should have seen the ending coming but I guess I am very thick xd

and now to the main event judge dredd....holy crap I  am not spoiling a goddamn thing about this but prepare yourself.....you will not be expecting this one and its thankfully not the dark judges....its something more awesome

Prog / prog 2182: So long and geek out
18 May, 2020, 05:52:43 PM
Survival geeks get the cover as they should since its their final ever story. I know its not everyones cup of tea but I will miss this strip it was a nice constant fun thing to have around.

The order is back! this pleases me as a fan of kek-w and it did not disappoint i look foward to more of it after the all ages prog.

theres a future shock....i skipped it

Dredd ends happier than i was expecting it to colin will be pleased

Hershey ends book 1 and well certain people in recent threads kinda called it. kinda obvious in hindsight did simon draw the wrong eye covered to throw us off i wonder....

Prog / 2180: into the fire!
04 May, 2020, 04:06:27 PM
three in a row huh....thats pretty cool

Anyway cover is a rather cool Aquilla image by Cliff Robinson

Call me crazy but I do not see a happy ending in the horizon for either chimpsky or Stan

Aquilla and hershey are both fantastic as per and also as per i skipped skip tracer its finally over though (more on that in a sec)

Survival geeks wins the week for me for actually surprising me with a plot twist i genuinly should have seen coming

Now back to skip tracer. It ends this week. Aquilla will end next week and the rest will end in 2182 to make way for the second regened special this year.

lovely wraparound cover with a mega city one that makes us glad we are not THAT bad yet

inside and stories continue on as they were. Love Dredd, love survival geeks though i feel like i got shafted out of my knightmare adventure. Murderous Tregard was great tho.

Hershey is the star of the show though i take back what i said weeks ago i am all in now

18 April, 2020, 12:31:16 PM
oh my god i can actually start one of these bless the postal droids!

Dredd: as the cover hints Chimpsky is back and he may face yet his greatest threat. wonderful stuff as ever

survival geeks: i will admit the reference to a certain tv show from my childhood at the end got a chuckle out of me.

i skipped skip tracer its not my bag i am afraid

aquilla and hershey are both fantastic as ever.

Hi gang you want a good podcast focusing on 2000ad?

you want one focused on other geekey stuff such as manga, movie, tv and other things?

Well theres tons on the net already including our very own space spinner 2000 and the megacity book club (love you Conrad, Fox and Eamonn)

If however you want two guys torturing each other with stuff they have never seen before then this could be the podcast for you! Starting next week my cohost Kazan and I will be pinponging media onto each other and talking about it for about an hour. In preperation for this I shall post up the links of our two advent calender entries which kinda work as a pilot of sorts for this podcast as well as Kazans "revenge" for killing time. Junji itos Hellstar Remina!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXZDnQ06j6M

Advent 2017: Prog 1

https://youtu.be/0UgweejQnpM

Advent 2019: indigo prime:Killing Time

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8XMeucFtf8

Officially episode 0 this was Kazans revenge for killing time and kinda established the format of this podcast. This is Hellstar remina the most 2000adest of japanese manga. We recorded this before it was announced its getting an actual english translation.

and yes I am making him read zombo in the future....

Episode 1 is next week it'll cover Dr and quinch

News / Slogging back from the grave
04 March, 2013, 05:14:48 PM
Its back like a beast which can never die forever the slog returneth and it will be daily monday-friday till i catch up on stuff i should have done.

so where was it since its disappearance?

well three things almost killed it. My too cool to kill articles (returning to everything comes back to 2000d in may...if i ever get that damn omnibus book done) a needed break after one of the absolute worst periods in rebellion era history (the satanist, world of warcrap bek and kawl) and three cataclysmic computer failures.

but it has returned and my first entry is tomorrow.

Got this wonderful collection today...feels both good and a bit tragic that I have a full set now.

It of course has everything from Memoirs to the title story within its pages. Plus four interesting extras alongside the cover gallery.

It has an extended sketch gallery of Simon frasers artwork with some loverly stuff within it. Theres an Robbie Morrison interview which originally appeared in Megazine 235. Plus an intro by Robbie and an rather touching afterward by Simon Fraser

(Simon you be feeling your age my man but at least you are a well respected artist...;)

A wonderful end to a wonderful series

I am reminded of that infamous scene in ultimate fantastic four in which Reed is tricked into visiting what he thinks is the real marvel universe.

Then zombie reed says EVER GET THE FEELING YOU'VE BEEN HAD?

My scanner has broken down and it will take days to get a new one.

I need to send in my next part asap so as not to skip a week

I need your help guys. I need a scan of the title page for the Masque of Dante. You know the one with Dante as the gentleman and Nastasia surrounded by masks on it?

If you can provide it for me I will be very grateful and also namecheck you for it!
