So maybe not much smaller than Apex Editions after all.
#62
Will these books be the size of the Apex Editions, or slightly smaller?
#63
Sounds absolutely grand!! I just wish more 2000ad stories would be given this special treatment. There are so many books that totally deserve it.

More big books like this needed! I'd certainly buy 'em.

Thanks, broodblik. I guess that makes a volume two of 'Fiends' both viable and desirable.

Quote from: Max Headroom on 20 July, 2023, 07:38:19 PMIt looks from the contents that the upcoming 'Fiends of the Eastern Front' volume will only feature four stories compared with the Hachette Ultimate Collection version's five. The story 'Fiends of the Western Front' (Progs 2111-2115) is not listed as appearing. This is disappointing, as I would have at the very least expected it to match the Hachette book, if not offer more. Can anyone confirm that it will definitely be missing the aforementioned story?

I note the cover for the forthcoming Fiends collection now states VOLUME ONE on the front, suggesting there could be a second volume if enough further tales accumulate...

I sincerely hope there will be a second volume including the omitted story and further tales. Just out of interest, can anyone remember which stories come after 'Fiends of the Western Front' as Barney has not been updated this far (?)

I must say that I disagree with Link Prime and do prefer the big, bulky volumes which contain everything in one edition. I would personally call for more of them and I don't mind paying a higher price for these complete books. What do others think?

I now have it on the highest authority, graphic novels editor Oliver Pickles no less, that these new Nemesis editions will feature all the colour restored and improved repro where it was slightly lacking. In view of this, I have already pre-ordered volume one and am looking forward to the 'definitive' experience!

(I would also like to echo Tjm86's comments about similar treatment for other classic stories. JD Case Files done to this standard would be awesome).

The blurb accompanying Book One of the series speaks of "...a comprehensive collection of the complete storyline in order" so this may alleviate your fears of omissions or things placed out of order, Leigh S. As for my earlier question, about the colour repro, maybe a helpful member of the esteemed editorial team (if they are reading this) could comment if no one on the forum seems to know?

Now available to pre-order from the Webshop, does anyone know if this edition will feature the missing colour spreads and, perhaps, slightly better repro than the Heresies?? I might be seriously tempted if it does.

Just pre-ordered my copy of the exclusive webshop edition. Despite quite a long time to wait (and hearing mixed things about this story), I'm looking forward to reading it.

I was wondering if anyone out there had any information regarding the 'Fiends of the Eastern Front' book which is tentatively scheduled for some time before the end of the year. Amazon lists it as due in October, whilst Forbidden Planet opts for a December release date. It is interesting that these two big suppliers have it as forthcoming, whilst I have heard nothing from Rebellion or on this forum. Amazon go on to say it is "a luxury omnibus expanded and updated in definitive edition" which all sounds really promising. I am hoping that someone could confirm if it is still viable for this year and, if so, whether it will contain any material extra to that featured in the Ultimate Collection version?

'House of Death' was also reprinted in JD Restricted Files volume 4.

I have my copy and a very nice tome it is too. And I can confirm that the back cover of Prog 461 is included so that you can know which is the short straw and thus finish 'Slaine: Tomb of Terror'! Good stuff.
