Slippo, got to agree there, maybe my tone was wrong, and I apologise to any Jocks who cringed, another national trait perhaps??.

I've spent years arguing we've got to take responsibility for our own actions and also argued as a postal worker, I have more in common with my fellow workers down south that with a whole host of geographically close 'countrymen'.

Yeah and GReenie's nicely cynical 'off the cuff' is a good stereotype, but we have all got to rise beyond these stereotypes surely? We all know they are occasionally right, but most of the times they are a lazy and embarassing shorthand for Daily Mail readers and crap joke tellers.
So yeah, its difficult for me to balance my firm belief in Internationalism with being a Jock, but the only answer is the Eurovision contest, after all, look how its brought us all together? :-)

Rising swiftly to the bait... Jock Rant II

Why do you assume this is directed at the English?

I believe it was a British entry, not an English one. Of course, some English assume one is the same as the other, its not.

How about having a pop back at the bogtrotters, sweatysocks and sheepshaggers, but using humour instead of the Kenneth Williams' Imfamy!Imfamy! speech? Thats how the lesser mortals on these isles have handled living with a large, bombastic and at times homourless neigbour. Oh and take notes from our sporting teams as well, once you've come last a few times you learn to enjoy the event more, ask the Tartan army.

I thought it was a funny subject line, made me laugh, after all a large part of the orginal 'limeys' were Jocks and Irish, I know cause I've seen 'Hornblower' twice.

Which reminds me, did you hear about the two Jock sailors at the battle of Trafalgar? When the stirring famous 'England expects every man to do his duty' went out, one Jock said
'Whitaboot us?'
The second replied ' They dinnae hav tae tell us, Scotland kens we'll do oors'

or as me old fayther says 'Yi kin aye tell an Englishman, but yi cannae tell him much'

Big hugs Ratty and as my six year old would say 'Take a chill pill'

We're not even good at being crap! haha Nil points. I think we should get Gemini to sing the next world cup anthem, the jock one not the po-faced one...

Gemini and the tartan army we're made for each other

Proudhuff tries to break in a la the Crankies... ooops wrong show,

Right just listen, listen, right SOMETIMES Bou is a little firey, Sometimes Slippos a little chicken-slippy, Sometimes Egg-on-legs likes to go off and collect logs, sometimes Malchi just a bit fabby, but sometimes we need to nuke a thread, that's all I'm saying okay?
