I thought you meant the Sex Pistols front man too. I haven't really watched the world of oiled-up homo-eroticism that is WWF, since I was about 15.

I'm optimistic about Urban, just so long as he doesn't do his Deforest Kelly voice

Here's my 2 creds.

I've got about half a dozen mates who are big comic fans, they all have their own tastes, some prefer DC/Marvel's stable, a couple like Vertigo, others like Image. I'm the only regular 2000AD reader, but I'd never tell anyone they should buy the Prog every week and the Meg every month, but I'm more than happy to lend them a couple of old ones. Then they can decide for themselves.

Now pretty much all of them have a few case files in their respective collections and I'm constantly being asked when Zenith is coming out.

Saw this guy on a poster. If he had any kind of acting ability, he would make a pretty good Dredd.

Side of a building, eh?
I'll get on to  the council then

First Hulk good. Second Hulk bad.

I think I'd reverse that (not that the second couldn't have been better) but I did like the Hulk's depiction in the first one. That huge mile jumping behemoth was just like he is in many of the comics. (Actually, from a realistic point of view that would be impossible, even for a creature of that strength, but it's an integral part of how he moves in the comics. He's so strong he effectively flies without flying!)

The psychological stuff let that film down for me. It should have worked. It was definitely the deeper of the two films, I just thought they took it too far. It felt pretentious to me.

Conversely, I thought the second could have actually had a bit more of that stuff, although I think it didn't do a bad job overall.

A hulk film with a tonal balance between the two would have been better. Not that they should do that now as it looks like The Avengers film will be taking up the Hulk story.
like the natural

I didn't care for the first Hulk film either, I didn't go see it at the cinema and the first time I saw was on a T.V with crappy reception. Didn't have a clue what was going on in the final climactic battle. When I finally saw it on DVD I realised I hadn't really missed much anyway

I'm just disappointed they haven't used The Leader yet. He always seemed like the best Hulk villain. Brains against Brawn and so forth

.... Studios are far to quick to give up, none of them have the courage of their convictions anymore. The Avengers will see a 3rd Hulk in as many movies, Spiderman is being rebooted, FF completely rebooted, Punisher has now been 3 guys in as many films, although scrapping the Lundgren movie would have made sense after so long even if it had been a classic. Daredevil wasn't perfect so we got a weak Electra movie instead of a sequel. It just seems too easy to start from scratch rather than say "yeah, we made some mistakes but we'll learn from them and do better in the sequel.

I see your point, but I think they were right to re-cast in those cases. They have yet to get Bruce Banner right, Toby Maguire's getting on a bit, and Spideman 3 completely ruined what was a decent pair of films. Ben Affleck? It's not good when Codin Fartill steals the show.

But I agree, they reboot because they get it wrong and they get it wrong because they think they know how to portray an established well loved character better than the people who made that character established and well loved. Case in Point? We all saw Stallone's Dredd

Books & Comics / Re: Mark Millar's CLINT

I got the first issue, and from what I've heard about the second, I doubt I'll bother. I strikes me as a vanity project for Millar and his celebrity mates. No offense to Wossy and Frankie Boyle, but if I had sent those scripts to a comic editor, I'd probably have to go through a few more rewrites before it got published.

Expect slow motion. Expect it everywhere.
:-\ Crap, light bleeding CGI Metropolis too

When I finally found out what the original secret project was all about, I thought it was one of the best things I'd heard of, it reminded me of this:

and it also compelled me to join this forum. I'd love to contribute something this time around

Those dissident wankers just blew up another bomb in my hometown, Derry.
Hope no one's hurt.

I think we should all thank our lucky stars Lucas ain't anywhere near this new dredd production.

I don't know, I think I could suffer another Dredd Turkey if it financially ruined George Lucas

Ye know what I want from a Superman movie?

An Adam west style high camp romp set in 60's style retro-futurism. With Patrick Stewart as Lex Luthor and Brent Spiner as Braniac.

And Sylvester Stallone as Bizarro. But, you knew I'd say that.

In work today, someone went the wrong way down the one way street of my car-park. There was a cop car going the other (i.e. the right) way, and they pulled him over. But the cop car pulled up and blocked the only exit from the car-park. ::)

So when one peeler got out and went over to chastise the idiot driver,I sauntered over and tapped the window.

'Excuse me sir, is this your car?'

SO satisfying. Especially since the pigs always give me the third degree about being a skin-head outside a hotel car-park with a bag-full of change

I am liking the drawing idea a lot. Haven't done any serious drawing since my GCSEs
