Okay, squaxx with long memories and dusty old collections of 1960s comics, here's the deal: I'm completely taken by everything I've heard about Leo Baxendale's classic comedy strips, but, sadly, have never seen any.  Grimly Feendish and his arch-nemesis Eagle-Eye, Junior Spy seem like pretty darn good places to start.  Does anybody have any scans of their escapades they can share, or some cobwebby old collections of Wham! or Smash! they're willing to swap in exchange for something from my big stack of duplicate progs, extra trade collections and GNs, or some of that rapidly devaluating "cash" stuff that the PayPal people swear by?

Help me out.  My childhood was not corrupted by Grimmly like y'all's was, and I reckon I'm overdue.

Me too- I almost didn't post the link!

I'm assuming that this strip is the inspiration for this little gem from The Damned's Phantasmagoria album ...

Cheers!

Pay attention, Mr. Campbell. I already posted a link to that. :)

Bleh. Been drinking and posting without due care and attention. Sorry about that ... as you were.

Cheers

I preferred Faceache (SCRUNNNNGE!)

Have  you read Alan Moore's Albion? A novel updating of all these old characters.

Grant Goggans

Yes, I have been rereading it, hence the desire to see the originals.

The scans on these sites are completely lovely, but only fuel my desire to own a great big box full of original Baxendale wildness.  Somebody needs to swap me some before I start spending wedding money bidding on things I don't need to spend wedding money on.

You getting wed? Congrats. I'd love to see a wedding list at a comic shop. All your uncles and grannies coming in to buy obscure back issues that they don't understand!

I, Cosh

It's The Bash Street Kids you want.
We never really die.

Grant Goggans

I'm registered at Amazon.  Next best thing, I reckon.  I've got some Tezuka on the list.   :D

James Stacey

It's the Willy the Kid books you want. Totally hatstand!
