General / Shop - out of stock
02 August, 2021, 08:27:32 AM
Hi all,

I've just hit the shop with my subs voucher only to find that The Spider, The Steel Claw, and Major Eazy are all, presumably, out of stock in paperback. Do we know if these will be getting a second print-run or am I going to have to go the Amazon/eBay route? Preorders for Megatropolis and a couple of other will appear in the future at some point, I assume.
Cheers.

As it says in the header, really, and at a reasonable price please (unlike the joker who has it priced at £60 on eBay) 👍

£650 ono. This includes the four prelim pieces shown. It's acrylics on board so thick you could use it as a door!

Christmas pressie and it's a lovely book but it doesn't match my vol. 1 paperback. 😔 I'm happy to take £20 + p&p for it.

Hi all!
As it says above really; almost everything in my gallery is available to buy (I need the funds to buy a 'special' piece that's out of my price range). If you see something you like, drop me a PM here or on CAF and we'll talk. If you've chased before and I've turned you down, now's your chance...

Prog / Prog 2062 - Smush Hour
29 December, 2017, 03:00:23 PM
New prog, (nearly) new year, and the first time I've bagged the prog thread in a while.
Quickly then:

Cover: Smashing Mongrol by Clint Langley

Dredd: Interesting enough but there's something about this arc that's just not grabbing me. Lovely art though.

Savage: my favourite thing in the prog at the mo; a great action episode with more brilliant art from the Goddard droid.

Brass Sun: More talking. Get on with it! (I do like it though.)

ABC Warriors: I'm enjoying this strip more now that Uncle Pat seems to have got over his continuity porn obsession of the last few stories.

Bad Company: Won't someone please make it stop?

Have a great new year, folks.

General / The Visible Man
14 July, 2017, 12:34:57 PM
I've just found out that 'The Visible Man' won't be returning. I can't be the only one who enjoyed this character, can I? If nothing else, the visuals were always great. I say let's use this thread to politely request Tharg to 'Bring Back Frank' for one last arc so Pat can at least wrap-up his story (I hate stories that end part-way through)

As it says on the box. I will be listing loads of comics over the next few months, mostly DC and Dark Horse but with some other stuff here and there. Mostly full story arcs or mini-series, drop me a PM if anything catches your eye or if you want to know if I have something before I list it.

Nice day, isn't it...

Cover: another cracker from Mr Robinson, of Defoe this time.

Dredd: continues to be of a straightforward romp, thoroughly enjoying this and McCrea's art id superb.

Defoe: speaking of superb art, wow! MacNeil hits us with sepia tinted reeks (similar to the 'Fiends...' style he used years ago) and the opening splash is all kinds of wonderful.

Brink: the thick plottens. Brilliant comics, this is.

Scarlet Traces: my least favourite thrill at the moment but Mr Brooker's art is a wonder to behold. Some interesting plot developments this week.

Cursed: brilliant, just brilliant. And gruesome, that panel with the spoon...nice! Well done, Dave, I'm pretty sure that's a first for the prog.

I bought this cracking page off Adrian Salmon this week but neither of us know where it's from. We know it was an illustration for a text story and Adrian believes it was in the Meg. Can anyone be more specific?

Prog / Prog 2023 - Punch It
18 March, 2017, 01:08:40 PM
All new prog, all new line-up and thread bagged by me. What a great weekend!

Another great dynamic cover from Cliff Robinson - he always makes it look so easy.

Dredd - an amusing little one-off by Wagner/Ezquerra. A little predictable but fun.

Then we get to the really good stuff:

Brink: Skeleton Life kicks off with a little intrigue and shock

Future Shock - massive plot-hole aside this is great for a first attempt from both writer and artist and, let's be honest, they are virtually impossible to write, these days!

Scarlet Traces: Cold War Bk 2 - oooooooo, those martians and their machinations!

And, finally, The Fall of Deadworld: Cursed. Superbly grim stuff from Kek-W and Mr Dave. I love this strip and can't wait for the collection.

Strip of the prog for me though is Brink.
