It should be Torquemada. Hes 2000ADs number one villain. But, I vote for Slaine- because his strips have entertained me more than any other over the past 40 years. And bad guys should lose.

Toughest possible choice.

Slaine is just engrained in my childhood.

Torquemada is the greatest villain in 2000AD ever.

Both are iconic.

But I have always assumed this contest would come down to a Johnny Alpha versus Torquemada final.

So very very reluctantly I'm not going for the Sessair's finest and say:

"No I'm with Torquemada".

Torquemada is possibly the best bad guy I've ever seen in any type of fiction. But Slaine has been an intrinsic part of my life since I was very small and brought Irish myths to life for me in a way that my schoolbooks couldn't come close to.

So, even though he should probably hang up his axe, the Axeman winneth.
