To have Dredd ride off reeks of end of story not beginning of and epic. Wagner knew what he was doing.

Nooooo....that imples that the whole creative process of 2k is working perfectly. Never forget that fans know better!

Holiday Spoils? Holiday Spoiled!

I've been really looking forwards to getting away. There have been upheavals at work, my partner's not sleeping well, and we're both basically whittling away at the days until we can go on holiday. It's our first proper holiday as a couple, and the fact that we've been together now for four years gives you a rough idea how long it's been since I last went away. We're going to my favourite place in the world, that Queen of resorts, Llandudno. We're even getting to fulfil a life long desire and see Ken Dodd in concert. Lovely. But, frankly, there is a buggeration on the horizon. One that Alanis Morisette would have included in 'Ironic', if anything rhymed with Llandudo. You see I'm going away on Saturday...

Prog 1650 may be my most anticipated since I subbed those many years ago now. And I won't be able to read it.

Not for a whole extra seven days. Just knowing that it'll pop through the letter box on the day I go away (the people who are staying with us are under orders to place it in the monopoly box for safe keeping) is tarnishing the whole thing for me.

So if you're in Llandudno on Wednesday and see a slow-witted fat man surruptitiously flicking through a prog say hi...

Couldn't agree more Trouty. The way it was published means the story finished with an ironic joke. That seems much more fitting than fiddling about with the panels. As much as I admire the cheek there's something very wrong about readers correcting a Wgner script...

How would Slaine deal with a Zombie invasion? Would he think 28 days were too many?

Blacking your adress out may have been a mistake as it defeats the primary purpose of the card. You'll know better next time.

John Wagner has an excellent Carlos Ezquerra cartoon on his cards. It's Mr Wagner, holding a Judicial Helmet and pondering, s ort of 'Alas, Poor Joe' moment.

Classifieds / Just my Drokking luck...

One of my jobs for the day was to advertise a complete Buffy dvd set. Just the one. For £40. One of those imported jobs you see on E-bay. Between Nick and I we have two complete sets. We don't need two. Just the one. So I'm selling one.

And what happens on the day I decide to sell one?

Invasion of the Snecking Spam Bots.

The site is saturated with adverts for DVDs.

Buggeration.

Nevertheless if you want a set of Buffy dvds, the imported complete box set, and you think £40 seems fair contact me. And if you want to trade it me for something else, contact me.

Othewise....bugger.

General / Is it true reading Slaine...
16 August, 2009, 10:05:48 AM
I was reading a scientific journal recently and read a theory that a particular interest in, or long term exposure to comics about barbarians who wear loin clothes is the only connecting factor between Oscar Wilde, the gangster Lattlay Fottfoy, scary man Derren Brown, and Purple People Eater star Neil Patrick Harris. It went on to postulate that regularly reading comics such as Slaine might make you gay.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Any thoughts?

You may be able to jury rig a signal booster that would, effectively, supercharge your phone.

The signal receptor of mobile phones, handily, are made from metals coated with a synthetic subtance have a very particular chemical signature, similar to the proteins and fat from milk, once the coagulation of the milk protein casein has taken place.

As a result regularly coating your phone with quantities of the above should work wonders.

It was Richard Hatch who was doing the rounds with the new trailer, I believe.
