I, Cosh

Looks like a rock shaped like a shrunken head sitting on top of a rock shaped like a rock. The latter is less common than you might think.
We never really die.

Definitely Not Mister Pops

I think we have the grounds to start a religion here lads
You may quote me on that.

You saw a cat that can survive Atomic Bacterial and Chemical warfare? Cool! Spread the word.

Cats can survive anything.

An ABC is an Alien Big Cat.

It's all the fault of this band:

Read about this phenomenon, fascinating isn't it? Reminds me also of The Bloop - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloop - which is probably almost definitely Cthulhu farting in his sleep.

Dandontdare

when they built the Hilton Tower in Manchester, the big grill-thing on top (I'm still not sure what it's for) had to be adjusted because in high winds it emitted a really loud hum/howl that could be heard for miles - they even had to suspend filming on Coronation Street a few times!

The Legendary Shark

I seem to remember reading about "the hummadruz" in Fortean Times many years ago. IIrc, the phenomena was variously explained as UFOs, psychic shenanigans, the movement of the Earth's molten interior, the noise of the oceans reverberating through the planet's crust or the spin/motion of the Earth as it hurtles through space. All very intriguing, but I can't say I've ever heard it.

If it puts a stop to Coronation Street, though, it's fine by me!

A recent FT had a page on the humming, one interesting theory was the shape of surrounding hills, echos and evey vibrating crystals !!!
DDT did a job on me

I suspect that village is situated near a long cave/tunnel system that goes straight down to the centre of the Earth.

One of the Silurians' cryostasis machines has probably breaking down over the millennia. It could do with a spot of oil no doubt.

As long as it leads to some Tipping the Snakeskin detective action, I'm all for it.

The Legendary Shark

When I was a young kid I was told about two monsters that lived in my village.

The first was the Sand-Bear (pronounced san-bower in the local accent). This fearsome beast was supposed to roam the Ribble Estuary salt marshes and devour unwary wildfowlers.

The second was "Jinny Green-Teeth" who lived in ditches. Jinny was the green slime that lived in ditch-water and would leap up and pull you in if you got too close.

These two beasties were obviously (?) fabrications invented to keep kids away from dangerous places. Does anyone else remember similar childhood monsters? I wonder how many monsters were born as fictitious cautions and evolved to become part of the world's folklore?
