What do you have on your desktop background? I bet the hive mind can recommend all sorts of amazing art to brighten up our computers!
I have a great Freakangels image right now, but I need a change.

I've got this hodge podge of Metamorpho images I created while practicing using Paint.

I always seem to come back to this image that I vectorised some time ago:

Hey I posted a smaller version of that pic months ago! Can't for the life of me remember why, but it's still in my photobucket album!
I change mine often. I had the Sgt Pepper's pastiche from last month's art comp for a few weeks, but it was a bit busy, so I'm currently using the classic stront from this site.
Top Tip: My usual method is to scan the covers of graphic novels and then add a thick black bar left and right - this not only makes it screen-shaped, but gives a nice plain background to park your shortcuts on. I've had some fabulous Hulk and Ultimates desktops recently. Best to choose the cover galleries and alternates (that they always include to pad out the page-count) as they don't have all the text.
Normally a piccy of my family but at the moment it is the fan photo/CGI of Dredd on his bike from the Judge Minty collection. Which incidentally the missus says would make a good tattoo.

I've got Mike Carroll's awesome Dreddworld lego image. It's at the bottom of this page,

If you've never had a look, check out the rest of the thread to see plenty more of Mr.Carroll and the other 3D maestro's unbelievable constructions. Just brilliant.
Good pointer, Kerrin. FOr some reason I'd never checked out that part of the thread.
Lego City One. Genius. Another example of the rare talent and diseased mind that is Mike Carroll.
Lego City One it is! Nice one, Mike.

I have Greg Staples' view of Mega City 1
obscured by a zillion files I keep meaning to sort out
I currently have a very stretched and pixelated picture of John Carpenter's face looming out of the dark...
It was the downloadable Slaine one from this here site, but it's scanned-off-whiteness annoyed me too much.

He is the Don, is he not, your Majesty. I keep thinking that maybe I'll have a change of wallpaper, but I'm damned if I can find anything I like better. Cheers again Mike.
Perhaps something sci-fi, but with a retro feel to it? A rocket in space, but one that looks like a firework used as a prop in a film serial?

Or something with Daleks?

Yep, not content with BUILDING Lego City One, he gave it such a cool name. Mike Carroll, we salute you!
Love it. It's my new desktop as of right now.
I've got a picture of my 16-month old niece on there at the moment.
Not really a broad appeal for yer average sci-fi comic forum audience, but there you go...
got a hellboy one at the mo from dark horse.

Yes! Its a shame about that! I'm still persevering with it but the off-whiteness is really getting to me and its going to be going in the recycle bin very shortly!
i have had some cool star trek ones on my last PC,
my favourite was an interactive one which had the federatoin logo and pop ups with statements such as incoming transmission for new email.
currently have hoagy and the space spinner pic.which is great.
sadly the more sweet as honey shots of sci-fi babes with props are not quite as acceptable since i now have a seceratary secarataryyoung lady whom takes care of the admin and appointments for me.
I have a this from the film Sky Capatin and the world of Tomorrow

I recently bought the film on blue ray and loved it. Giant robots, planes that fly under water and Angelina Jollie in leather....Works for me!!

It's one of those films that's short enough, and fun enough, that I'll watch it relatively frequently ... the novelty has yet to wear off, and I'd unreservedly recommend it as a bit of lightweight entertainment to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.
Cheers!

Tiny Tips (who's not so Tiny these days) loves it.
And I quite like it.
If their was the slightest ounce of chmistry or interest in their roles shown by Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow, it'd be fantastic.
And it does have a great Marathon Man gag.
That movie really OUGHT to be dreadful, but somehow avoids it. SOMEHOW it's actually very enjoyable. I've no idea how or why. And it can't be Angie in leather because she's hardly in it.
This is my current wallpaper:

I also love Sky Captain. Its fun, exciting, looks fantastic and doesn't over stay its welcome.

Genius!
I had this one for a while before Invincible got all blue and crappy.

My new desktop as of this morning. I challenge you all not to go "ahhhh"
It's a hang-gliding kitten! Weeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
Ahhhh! They have flight now!!!
All that's left is for them to develop a paw-operated can opener and we're doomed!

I'm not being funny with anyone, but am I the only person who doesn't get this whole desktop thing? I have one of the Apple defaults installed, and I never see it because, if the machine's on, then I'm working and the desktop is obscured.
I just don't get it!
Cheers
Jim
on one PC a scan of the inside of my left eye (very cool, think along the lines of a nebula in Star Trek), and a one from a MangaQuake cover which is just great (and available for DL when the site is running again.
