Help! / So which kneepad was it?
23 April, 2005, 06:44:07 AM

Brian Bolland illustrated a 'Judge Anderson, Supreme Sacrifice' 2000ad Star Pin-Up, back cover, colour, somewhere between progs 200 and 300(?) IIRC.

Anderson wrestles with the immortal spirit of Judge Death, one of her Kneepads is torn.. but which one?

Could anyone possibly post a scan of that image here?

Much appreciated.

Cheers, Ol

I have flu.. I have spent the last two days in bed, sleeping.. eating soup.. surfing the net on a lap top and.. sleeping.

I have also discovered that Dr. Stephen Hawking, world-renowned astrophysicist is also a hard-core gangsta rapper.

http://www.soundclick.com/images/mchawking+quakemaster.jpg>

'The Mighty Stephen Hawking is a fucking Quake god,
got my finger on the trigger and my eye on the quad.
I know it's just a game, but I didn't come to play,
the Hawkman cometh and he's bringing Doomsday.
You say, "impressive", I already know it,
I'm a hardcore player and I'm not afraid to show it.
I got a Phd in pain and a masters in disaster,
the mighty Stephen Hawking is a fucking QuakeMaster.'

Sleeper came highly recommended by Jared who runs the excellent OK Comics in Leeds.

Haven?t read something that captured my imagination so completely for a long time, is anyone else enjoying this as much as me?

Just like the title reads I'm here on LMS's computer waiting around to shoot it out online with squxxs and non-squaxxs alike..

Be warned I'm not sure how Gamespy works and my total playing time on DVsD amounts to about 3 hours.

Thirty minutes and counting- Cheers,

Suggestions / Milli-Com's hidden agenda..
20 September, 2003, 08:50:37 AM

I'm reacquainting myself with the original Gerry Finley-Day Rogue Trooper stories.

I've been picking up old progs, specials and monthlies here and there and slowly piecing the anthology together.

There are still huge gaps in the collection and I haven't even begun to look into the Hit series, Friday or Tor Cyan's adventures.

On top of this I've only followed Gordon Rennie's Rogue strips intermittently and the Rogue related threads on the board for about six months.

So maybe I'm raking over old ground here-

But it recently occurred to me that- like the conspiracy theories surrounding Pearl Harbour i.e.: Roosevelt's government having prior knowledge of the Japanese attack- that the top brass in Milli-Com were aware of the impending Quartz Massacre and that they were prepared to sacrifice (almost) the entire GI regiment in order to somehow expose the Traitor General (perhaps even anticipating Rogue's pivotal role) eliminate the mole in their midst and finally turn the tide of the war on Nu Earth in their favour.

Would this make an interesting subtext for a new original Rogue Trooper story or have I missed the boat on this one?

Meaning I'm about to find a story that already covers this..

Just spent most of this morning (it's 3.47am now) playing against Steplightly on the virtual yahoo pool site- what a sound guy.. fifty year old father of two no less.

He's off to the bike club in Cincinnati Ohio, to a wake for a friend he buried on Monday.

And I'm off to bed.

The world keeps on turning..

I discovered an on-line graffiti paint program the other day at:

http://www.vandalsquad.com

It lets you paint virtual freight train carriages with impunity, Ha-Ha!

No running out of your favorite colour, blocked caps or fear of
arrest by the transport filth..

This is a homage to Mike Mignola's Hellboy.

General / FAO Uncle Umpty..
12 May, 2003, 12:07:38 AM
Don't know why I didn't do this before-

Rather than hope you'll catch a reply on the off chance you re-visit a thread here's the original post from paul's Dredd/Moon thread below-

++Uncle Umpty, the last time I was as for a Dredd sketch must have been about twenty years ago,
when all I could think about was 2000ad, conkers and Joanna Marfell (yes, in that order).

Not sure about handing over a Dredd sketch really,
after all I'm not a nerve centre art droid-
it just wouldn't seem right.
However I've got some other stuff here that might double as wallpaper
or a couple of print-friendly jpegs which I ocassionally dump out onto sticky-back
and flypost round the town..

(I think) I can be contacted by e-mail via a new profile page that Wake set up.
Send me your address and I'll attach some 'pegs return post.++

Can't e-mail you at your home page- my outlook express isn't set up correctly.

Cheers  B.
