I have been paying particular attention to our friends across the Atlantic in the U.S for some time now and right now i am watching a country that is utterly divided down the middle ,that has been runned into the ground by Corporate/Financial/Globalist Elitists who have sucked it dry over successive administrations [especially GWBush] collapse in on itself in a political/economic shitstorm that will be unprecedented because of the left wing totalitarian govt now in office just as predicted.

The cracks are beginning to show and it will get worse before it gets better unfortunately.

Just so you know, you sound mental there. And not in a good way. Have you considered going for a walk in the park and feeding ducks instead of sitting at a pc brooding? You might just find it helpfull.

I mean tomorrow of course.

Feeding ducks at night would be creepy beyond words.

Help! / Re: Google Doesn't Like Me
07 August, 2009, 10:13:23 PM
Google often does this. It's a side effect of one of the algorythms programmed into the search matrix. Essentially it reads the key stroke of your typing and, if it percieves uncertainty or unfamiarity in your typing, performs negatively.

In order to rectify this you will have to show more confidence using it, essentially show it who's boss.

Go to www.google.co.uk, click ont the seach box, and type in something domineering like "Do what I say you bitch, or I'll put a hammer through your screen you googlewhore."

It should then work fine, if it doesn't you will have to go through with the threat, or appear weak. If you appear weak not only will google not like you but Wikipedia won't respect you. You will be fed false information, and your name will appear on lists of synonyms for masturbation. In extreme cases Amazon.co.uk will start sending hardcore gay porn instead of your purchases because it's heard you like that sort of thing.

So, you know, give google a slap.

Plenty of copies of Best of doing the round. The early ones reprinted chunks of several serials, allowing for much colouring fun.

Its a shame that that option can lead to a whole other mound of trouble which is the only thing stopping me from introducing a fucking baseball bat to his head.

Repeatedly...

Even the greatest criminals can make a small mistake that leads to their downfall. His was announcing his intentions in advance, via a public forum...

Did anyonse see the Beebs one o clock news? There was a frosty moment where the presenter asked someone to share his memories of Harry Patch.

"I don't think it would be appropriate to speak through the minutes silence, do you?"

"...er...back to the studio".

True DXB has been a tad more abrasive and negative of late...

I've recently realised that there's no point in hiding my disdain of any of you fuckers. If there were any one still posting here I respected I may be less abrassive...

I'd assumed it was dug up as the very first post mentions Judge Dredd: Social Worker.

You can assume that but you'd be wrong. It's a lovely co-incidence that you enables you to assume that but, you know, co-incidence all the same.

I was inspired by something said inthe i[pod thread to root through my back catalogue, spotted this and bumped it up.

For the record I'm going to be doing a 14 shift tomorrow between 7 am and 9 pm. With travel time and a short turn around before the morning shift Wednesday I'm unlikely to be online again until Wednesday evening.

This means that I may appear cowardly for not replying to any of the numerous threads in which I've offended people, you'll just have to bear with me. I'll explain why you are wrong and recieve apologies due as a result on a first come first served basis at some point after 7 P.M. Wednesday evening.

If anyone needs to urgently contact me get Commisioner Gordon to fire up the Cunt-Sign and I'll come running.

Can I just say 'Salad of Halo Jones' may be the best thing I've ever written on this forum.

Books & Comics / Re: Classic Dan Dare
03 August, 2009, 09:46:12 AM
Start with the first story, split over two volumes and over a year in the telling.

I'm reminded of Warren Ellis' afterword for Ministry of Space, where he correctly writes that Dan Dare's retro futurism is now redolant of alternate reality fiction now. We've long passed the 'futute' of Dans world and that ass an interesting sheen to the series.

Dare is a very British creation, a Manchester lad made good and promoted up to officer ranks. With his trusty Batman, the middle aged, un fit, chronically daft Albert Digby he travels into a fantasy world inspired as much by austerity Britain as anything else.

It's a glorious, full bodied, full coloured, fully realised world of daring escapes, fiendish villains, good friends, and funky machines.

Dare is a testament to it's creators and s strong contender for the greatest comic strip Britain has ever produced. The world for that matter.

It's old fashioned morality and good natured thrills aren't everyones cup of tea but even if you don't like this sort of thing it's stunningly well made and well worth a read.

Buy it, enjoy it, pass the messahe on.

They vary, naturally, but on the whole? Gorgeous, fast paced, exciting, well characterised and funny. If you need anything else in a story it's probably there too.

No, the cheese was innapropriate.

And, for those that think I've been cowardly avoiding this thread, I worked a 14 hour day on Sunday looking after vulnerable adults. Sometimes doing stuff id more important than posting...

Nah, nowt to it.

My brother told me it worked for him, I passed it on. My part over, and hey, I'm sorry for my part in it.

Attempting to lighten things with a surreal joke? There's a mistake.
