Other Reviews / Judge Dredd: Every Empire Falls
05 February, 2017, 10:33:24 PM
[url-https://judgetutorsemple.wordpress.com/2017/02/05/judge-dredd-every-empire-falls-spoiler-free-preview-including-5-pages/]My spoiler free Preview[/url] of this book is on my blog now,

Previews are of course light in substance as I can't really discuss the plot much at all. Most of you will have read these stories,

This is my first Preview in a while. Feels good to have one under my belt.

I have traditionally reviewed the year from a perspective of me writing my blog and how things have progressed in my interests.

This one is slightly self indulgent. I'm not sure it really does what I intended. It's more or less intended to be a start to me writing g more often without being a silly 'new years resolution', after all I've already said I plan to restart the blog properly...

Anyway this year's review Annus Horribilis

This was hard to write and a hard decision to write in the first place. I am not an attention seeker, I'm pretty reserved really. But I hope others will think about their health after what happened to me.

There are some unpleasant things in the article.

General / They did WHAT to your Prog???
14 June, 2016, 09:17:41 PM
Sat here in hospital my mindc wanders and suddenly I am reliving a traumatic experience.

It is Summer (I think) 1981 and my Aunt has popped round; this is traumatic in itself.

She walks in to the front room. I've just put down the clearest Prog. She picks it up saying 'this will do' and puts it on the coffee table THEN puts a cup of tea/coffee on top of it!

Itv was already dribbling from her carrying it from the kitchen, so stained already. I protest, 'you've read it' she snaps.

My 13 year old self was devastated.

I assume I am not the only one to have had a Prog mistreated by another...

Games / Roleplaying Development in Uganda
22 March, 2016, 06:46:06 PM
This is an article I have written about a project started by a 14 year old lad in Uganda. He is using Pathfinder RPG to entertain and inspire other young people to use their imagination.

I am pretty impressed with his positive outlook.

His group don't have any gaming shops to go buy things,  plus they need quite a few things... they've had a few Adventure Paths donated to them, it'd be cool if they got a few more things.

Books & Comics / IDW International
11 January, 2016, 09:55:14 PM
IDW are launching an International division who will be looking at licensing outside USA. This will ibclude translating their back catalogue from English. I'm pretty sure it is hoped they will add more non-English titles to their titles - such as Corto Maltese.

The article includes contact details for Publishers & Creators who might be interested in joining the scheme.

Games / DayZ - my review
03 January, 2016, 01:58:18 AM
Been playing this on n off since October 2014.

I do not play many PC Games... This I like, almost what I want... I doubt there is a mass market for a game I really want.

https://judgetutorsemple.wordpress.com/2016/01/02/dayz-dare-you-play-this-zombie-game/

If any of you play it or start to play it I might be open to suggestions to work together.

Off Topic / Making choices when Depressed
28 December, 2015, 08:54:30 PM
Here is a little article (it is long) that I have written about Mental Health issues. Specifically about making rash decisions when Depressed.

It is a lot more open than I usually am about my own 'stuff' though I have openly mentioned on this Forum before that I have Depression & Anxiety issues.

I am not going to go in depth here as I've already gone in depth on the Blog.

I'm unashamed about my condition. Feel free to share the article around. My real name is available in the Blog and I'll be sharing this on Twitter & Facebook under my real name.

If someone just simply knowing I have these issues can get a slither of something from it - GREAT.

Hi folks.

I am planning my free Reviews Booklet and want to include as many of the fine creators who frequent this board as possible.

I do have a list that I am working on but the more I can include the better.

If you could let me know if you are attending I'll do my nest to include details. It'd help f you told me the Table you will be at (times if relevant) and what you will have for sale with you.

First time this has been done by 2000AD, a Graphic Novel that has material never published in 2000AD or the Megazine.

1960s Newspaper serikal Goldtiger by Barreti & Schaeffer. That classic you never knew. Oh yes indeed collected in entirity and remastered very inventively. You'll never believe you never heard of this before.

My article is on my blog with a whole chunk of the Press Release and including things about Wikipedia that will SHOCK YOU. Clickbait

There are tongues and cheeks involved. I do hope you enjoy.

I am in the process of getting the unofficial City of Dredd resource book back in to publication. Working with Ivan Noel, who was involved in the original project throughout publication.

We've obtained John Caliber's blessing to proceed with this and John's name will remain on the book in some form.

Ivan and I worked on Play Dredd with John and I used this book and it's predecessors to help keep my games 'real'. I was sad to see it go out of publication but fully understood why John took that step.

This is not for profit and we'll try to keep the cost as low as possible.

It'll be months before anything solid can be shared - you can read my full announcement about this on my blog, though the project will not be part of the Judge-Tutor Semple 'brand'
