Well if Week 1 broke you into what Round 3 could be like Week 2 will show you its extremes with possibly the tie of the Round coming in (though there is one later that possibly tops even this). Eyes will be blinding, hair will be torn out before this week is over...
A Grennie face-off here. Necronauts has already taken down Timequake and Dredd... well Cadet Dredd at least. Aquila slugged it out with The Vigilant. So both face a much tougher challenge here. Both show the best of their writer - with great art teams as well. The swords and cricket bats are drawn...

Just reply in this thread naming your favourite thrill of these two series at the beginning of your post (or use Bold tags so I can spot it easily) and say what you like about these wonderful stories after that.
Match ends early on the morning of Thursday 19th May and the winner gets a place in Round 4 (of 9!!!).
What on Earth is ALL of this? (https://forums.2000ad.com/index.php?topic=48011.0)
For those that need 'um and can be bothered to follow 'um there's some simple rules (https://forums.2000ad.com/index.php?topic=48011.msg1070150#msg1070150)

Aquila.
These are both really good. Going to go with Necronauts.
I would have said Necronauts, but Aquila's most recent series really turned it around for me. So: Aquila.
Aquila.
A good, solid thrill after a bit of a dodgy start. Necronauts pretty good.

Loved Necronauts but Aquila is the winner here for me.
Aquila largely leaves me cold. It's a problem when your protagonist is a moody, unlikeable lunk.Necronauts for me - unique, memorable, didn't outstay its welcome

Got a lot of nostalgic love for Necronauts, but it can't be denied that Rennie has got more sophisticated and I tend to like that in a story. Still, Necronauts deserves respect for being one of the earlier iterations of 'let's throw together a bunch of famous people from the past and put them on a thematically appropriate adventure' - it predates League of Extraorindary Gentlemen, even, doesn't it?
Still, Aquila is better.

It's that old argument again: art vs. popcorn, or Alien vs. Aliens. They're both good things - I'm never going to argue otherwise. Sometimes you feel like you want the popcorn more - it's an easier pleasure to digest. But for posterity, for what to take on the spaceship with you when society crumbles and we're headed out to the brink, you know what's more important.
Necronauts

Necronauts ... predates League of Extraorindary Gentlemen, even, doesn't it?
Apparently not. LoEG is 1999, Necronauts is 2000. (Publication-wise, any road.)

A version of Necronauts was announced by Tundra Comics in 1992. It was the exact same concept, but would have been a lesser story than the one that saw print 8 years later in the prog.
Yes, Necronauts. Short, sweet and to the point.

Last day of the Grennie Derby with Gordon watching which of his thrills will you choose to make it to Round 4? From a quick eye scan I think we see the favourite to snatch this one, but suspect there could be more to come today. I'll announce the result of the Grennoff in the morning.
VOTING CLOSED
Again as with tie 9 I thought this one would be closer. Neuronauts is a lean, tight thrill and works really well. Though what's not to love about kinda Blackblood reboot and rampaging Romans I guess and as such
Aquila
Is driving its gladius into Round 4.
