I take it from the context that "troll" is some kind of uber-geeky term for an obstreperous poster which you use because you're so fucking "in" and "street" and in no way a "newbie".

Can't anyone just speak English anymore?  Christ, what a load of wank!

(How was that?)

I can't say I'm that bothered.

I reckon it would be difficult to maintain that kind of furore over things without it becoming forced.

Better to end on a high note rather than drag things out.  After all, look what happened to Rogue Trooper.

Would that be part 3 of the Space Trucker's Dictionary?

Perhaps Tharg is nervous that another Inferno or Wilderlands might accidentally slip through the quality net.

Longer story does not equal quality story, although I do prefer longer runs on Dredd (generally speaking).  Long sequences of one-offs fill me with ennui, as the quality is usually patchy.

One of the weird things about Dredd now is that we all know Wagner's tricks.  We know when a story is probably highly significant for the future.  "Fire & Ice" was obviously laying down some framework for the future, for example.

I'd like to see Dredd dive into a real epic story with no warning at all:  that would be a surprise.  Just as long as it's nothing like Inferno or Wilderlands.  10th planet?  Arse.  Statue of Judgement hitting the West Wall?  Arse.

SCB estimate: 68 pages
Total War: 72 pages

[Assuming the 13 episode run is correct, and 5 pages each for remaining installments of SCB].

Not that size matters.

Aye - the tele version is the uncut version - been available on DVD for years now.

It was always a very fast cut anyway - blink and you miss it.

You'd have thought that a headless animated corpse spewing blood into someone's mouth for several seconds was worse than a couple of frames of suggested penetration, but then I never was big on censorship.

I think, because it's a sequel, it suffers harsher criticism.

For people looking for "more of the same", it didn't really deliver, as it's a completely different movie from I and II (themselves, of course, very similar).

Perhaps, to "the critics", it didn't work because it was more of an outright comedy than the previous movies.

The crucial difference, for me, is that Evil Dead I & II are tense and scary (whilst still being comedic in places) whereas Army of Darkness simply is not scary.  It's gory, amusing, inventive and bizarre:  but it's just not scary.  For a horror movie, that's got to be a downside.

(Of course, it would be unfair to compare Alien and Aliens, as they are completely different sub-genres of sci-fi:  horror and action respectively.)

Oops - Grant actually mentions that in the new story.  I wonder what the most hats eaten by a single poster in one week is?

Still - Melda going out in a blaze of glory is better than being squished by a neon sign.

I'll get me coat...

Whatever Happened To Melda Dreepe?

Actually, she died in Prog 239 (part four of Block Mania).

She was the leader of the last 277 Dan Tanna blockers (gassed by Heston & Montalban), and I quote:

"Weather control's measures came too late for Dan Tanna's brave 277.  They perished in toto as they charged across no block land".

I am a continuity nerd and I claim my 5 galactic groats.

As with the Psycho remake, it just begs the question "why?" and the answer is usually "for money, you dolt, why do you think?"

Mind you, some remakes are good (Invasion Of The Body Snatchers, for example).  It's just that when there's nothing visibly wrong with the original, why re-invent the wheel?  Oh yeah...money.

My Judge Nanobot isn't a proper entry to your competition because I stole all of the images during a swift google-image search.

I just thought it was an interesting concept.

Here's some cod backstory:

The Mega-City Two Justice Dept. is understandably depleted, having been nuked out of existance on Judgement Day.

In rebuilding the city, the few survivors turned to mechanised units along the same lines as MC-1's Mechanismo program.

Further, there is a massive robot community in the city, due to the need for mechanised labour.

Organised crime perps, inspired by the Narcos affair, constantly attempt to subvert robots using Grid (future internet) virus infiltration and off-world nano-tech.

After several mechanised Judge units were subverted, resulting in the death of many senior judges in an attempted coup, the first Judge Nanobots were deployed, to seek out and destroy grid-crime and robot subversion.

Their motto:  0100 1001 0110 0001 0110 1101 0111 0100 0110 1000 0110 0101 0110 1100 0110 0001 0111 0111 0010 0001

[Thanks to QuimbyXMouse for clarifying the current assumed status of MC-2.]
