A small website that pleased and interested me very much. I hope you like it and if there's any similarly pleasant, eccentric websites out there that you'd like to share with me that'd be nice too.

I'll dig out the link to the Green Man site by Mike Harding at some point, if there's an interest.

I'll watch out for pleasant, eccentric websites, DXB. In the meantime, shouldn't someone tell Pat Mills about this? This could be the research that the next Slaine story needs

TordelBack

Nice one DXB, very innerressing, and best of all simply and clearly laid out.

 Very attractive simple webpage.

Never heard of the 3 hares symbolism myself which is surprising.

Its similar in its uses as the Green Man in the pictures and is obviously Pagan.

Christianity and Paganism overlap anyway and the majority of the old churches in Sussex are built on pre christian sacred sites.

 I find the subject fascinating.

And thats a lovely bit of carving.

Realy cool heard about this many years ago where they were talking about its meening.i realy love this stuf, and like to see the Green Man site if you find it

DavidXBrunt

Ah, this link isn't quite as simple but it's still easy to navigate. Part of poet/folk musician/actor/Dangermouse theme composer Mike Hardings website.

There's a fine seller of plaster of paris Green Men on e-bay. She also sells little plaques of fairy doors. Nobodys perfect.

Here is an article about the Jack inthe Green /Green Man festival that happens every year in Hastings.

There is a very strong Pagan /folk/tradition in Hastings particularly the Old Town.

There are lots of pics but none of those wearing the headgear with Antlers that look particularly interesting in that Pagan Wicker Man kind of way.

Very interesting, I hadn't heard of the three hares before.

I have a tattoo of the Green Man- that's what you get when exposed to The Wicker Man at a young and impressionable age

Here's a snap I took last summer of a green man carving that graces the entrance to the medieval village of St Ursanne in Switzerland.
