Science used to be fantastic until it became corporate controlled. Genetics have become patented/trademarked, all good automotive ideas have been bought and hidden away, and every discovery seems to come hand in hand with profiteering and keeping the general public in the dark.

Science used to be Drokking fantastic-a lot of it now seems like stomm!

You don't have to agree of course but then you also don't need to comment on what I've said.

Peace to all!  ;)

Science is Drokking fantastic because... It disproves a lot of Religious Hokem.

I don't want to get into this, I'll just say that science should be a tool to improve your understanding of the world around you. It's not a tool for attacking others beliefs.

I probably sounded a bit glib, but it's not an attack. You're all talking about science-how much further do you the Human race would be now if for instance: The Christians didn't destroy knowledge in the Dark Ages; (this is not an attack on Christians it's an observation).   :)

I shall be watching this thread very carefully. By all Means discuss this subject, but do it nicely or I'll lock the motherdrokker.

I'm not trying to incite hatred, I just like a good debate.  :)

Now obviously people can believe whatever they like, but I'm becoming increasingly concerned with the strangle-hold that Organised Religion has over the World. It dominates Politics, the Media, and is still used as a benchmark for good behavior.

This is my opinion, I would like to know what others think.

Peace  :)

Dredd  :o

How full has the cinema been for you guys? I know Saturday afternoon may not be the most popular time but there were only five of us in the whole theatre...

There weren't many when I went. It was 1.30 Friday afternoon and there were about 15/20 people there. But then I do live in Exeter and the Dredd community ain't in abundance down 'ere.

Absolutely mental film though. I took 2 of my non-2000 ad friends along and they both thought it was excellent.

Just got back from watching Dredd. Really good film, it went well beyond my expectations. Brutally ultraviolent. Quality  :)

No Peep Show? It's hard to think of another British comedy that has lasted as long without experiencing a huge drop in quality.

I've watched quite a few episodes of peep show and some have been hysterically funny. There was one in particular about acid tabs and a broken toilet door. Absolutely hilarious!

My Boss was trying to explain a breakdown of percentages to some of the staff. He dismantled his nokia phone into 3 pieces (back/front and battery), he then held up the phone/pieces and said " right, this phone as a whole represents 100%. the back represents 10%, the front 70% and the battery is also 10%. how much percentage is that?" to which I replied 90%. He glared at me and started his percentage speech again pretty much word for word and asked again how much? Again I said 90% ( I repeated his nonsense back to him putting much emphasis into the figures he had given us.

Upon realizing his mistake he changed the subject entirely and started waffling about empty shelves!

He reminds me a bit of Ace Rimmer (What a Guy!)

I think a new system should be created based on mutual co-operation with our fellow Earthlets, greater respect for one another, and less reliance on corporations/banks and Religious zealots.

Perhaps we should start a 'Pipe-dream' thread or a 'This will certainly never happen' thread.

The Running Man was on Telly last night. Not the greatest of films but not a complete turd either. Not a patch on the book though, I think I new adaption closer to the source material is in order!

Recently finished Strontium Dogs complete files 1. Thought it was pretty good on the whole except for the early annual stories that were right at the back. The Hitler story was my personal favorite.
Going to try Dredd complete vol 1 again. I started reading it awhile back but found the earliest stories a bit
