Dredd for Chief Judge!

He was one of several clones in their nanny robot things that Dredd had to save.

He was transferred back to cover Big Meg staff shortages after Necropolis, IIRC.

It was referenced at that point, but I don't do back issue references.

Why have your comics organised when you can stuff them into cardboard boxes and ruin them, then sell them later as rare versions of the run-of-the-mill perfect thing?

I have a copy of Watchmen (man?) somewhere in all the boxes in my garage, but you think I can find the bloody thing.  And as I didn't really like it much when I read it years ago, I'm loathe to buy it again.

You've also got the other 7 Dredd clones knocking about MC1 which could be used at some point.

Its not a bad idea making dredd the Chief Judge.  One of the more recent classics "the Pit" made him sector house chief and the intrigue was excellent.  It also included a rather large dose of Soap in the proceedings as well, which was rather good.

The thought of hershey Incapacitated (like anderson) and dredd taking over for 6 months appeals, with  afocus on the polital machinations of the judge sytem could just well work.

 Agree with that, the Pit is my favourite Dredd story ever, really liked the Big Meg Hill Street Blues vibe, and nice to have the big cast of characters.

I remember saying in an earlier thread, that Dredd's face had been seen in this story, and this is the panel I was refering to.

Must say I had the same gut rejection of the idea as well but yeah I could see it working. However I think you would find it will work better if you have a corrupt/power hungary Chief Judge who gets injured, Dredd takes over and he discovers what this Chief Judge has been up to. It would just add a thread to his run as Chief Judge.
