Dredd recieve's wound that should kill him but won't. Yeah, this captures the spirit of modern Dredd just fine.

ah that's not just modern Dredd - he got shot right throught the head at the start of Day the Law Died, but a few episodes with a bandage round it sorted him out nicely. This one? Pshaw, just a flesh wound.  ;)
Indeed! One tend's to forget the classics in time of need.
This series isn't shaping out to badly IMHO, art quible in BU strip in #1 aside.

Watched Pulp Fiction last night as part of my Tarantino BD collection. It's stunning as ever, and a true corner stone in cinema history.

I should imagine Japan has always had a market for Dredd at least, the cynical, brutal tone is very much in keeping with some of the more popular teenage-adult manga such as Great Teacher Onizuka or Gantz. Even Death Note has tone's of Dredd plasterd all over it.

Absalom started almost week's after I started the fold for the first time and it's been a real ride (and extremely rewarding) popping in as a curious individual every week before becoming the hard core fan I am now just to see how old Harry's up to, i'll always have a soft spot in my heart for him, certainly more cherished than either Dredd or Alpha (though no more valued) as he truely is the opposite of what DC or Marvel put out, physicaly perfect and beautiful people in spandex doing pointless crap, instead we have an ugly, grumpy, middle aged git with no patience and a strong right hand. He's bloody awsome.

Just want get these across.
Loved the prog, and agree with SBT that Absalom this week may well be the highlight of the 2000AD year. However I have very different (and much less complimenatory) opinions on such 'tacky-fair' locations.
Also, where are people getting the Jimmy Savile inuendo's from in said strip? The clown demon calling the captures kid's 'his little darlings'?

Also, Tharg is almighty, when the rapture come's all other faith's will be crushed. Literaly.

Watched a little known movie about some chap's stuck in a shopping center filled with zombies last night. Dawn of the something-or-nothing. It is, of cause, a classic.

Shot my strip a day rule last night and slogged the rest. I feel vaguely ill. But what an amazing line up!
I enjoyed everything, from Crucis Plesiosaur to the Kraken in Red Sea's. From that 'Alien' cameo to Dredd and Johnny's twin head butt's. Absalom and Visible Man where a joy, Dredd was fun and festive (in that ugly MC1 way), Aquila had the hanging of Judas Iscariot (I love Aquila for stuff like that), Crucis and Red Sea's where the middling strips, but happy to have them, even Ack Ack Macaque wasn't half as bad as I expected (Bit of art recycling for Morris entry, identical to Maitlands entry in Bean Counter). Over all, jolly great stuff. And MOAR SAVAGE!!!!!

These people haven't quite got the hang of Judge Smiley yet. They went a bit over board.
