With the news that Proteus Vex concludes in the current arc, there won't be enough on it's own.

Maybe in a Mike Carroll volume with some Dreadnoughts.

I calculate that in 'Proteus Vex' the previous uncollected arc ('Crawlspace') covered 70 pages and the current story of 15 parts should be at least 80 pages; this grand total of 150 pages is more than some of the thinner volumes in the Ultimate Collection have been (eg 'Slaine: Book of Scars'). So there is at least hope it makes it in. Fingers crossed, as nothing could be more deserving!

General / FCBD 2024??
29 April, 2024, 01:21:30 PM
Does anyone know if there will be a 2000ad offering for FCBD this year? I have heard no discussion about it on the Internet, but wondered if anybody knows anything about if there will be, or if not, why? (I appreciate it is fairly late in the day, as the date itself is this Saturday).

Quote from: IndigoPrime on 25 April, 2024, 04:34:49 PMOn that notion of wish lists, there must be hope for completing The Order yet!

Indigo - I think 'The Order' has been confirmed somewhere as being completed at some point in this Ultimate Collection. (Unless I am totally mis-remembering!)

Of these new titles freshly announced, 'Hope' is listed as coming in at 256 pages - if this is correct then that would be everything published so far and bring us right up to date! (A definite purchase for me).

This volume will feature the following stories:

Fiends of the Western Front
Constanta
1963
Silent Knight

I have already pre-ordered my Webshop exclusive hardcover.

I'm a bit dubious about this year's Sci-Fi Special, as I was never a great fan of these Elseworlds-type crossovers. I will buy it (to show solidarity and all that) but don't have very high expectations as, for me, these 'alternative' stories never seem to work.

'Diaboliks' is one that I would like to see return.

Quote from: Funt Solo on 10 April, 2024, 06:52:41 PM6. Sinfield's anti-Mutie takeover. What's the status of muties in the Meg at the moment, anyway?

I was wondering about this also. Are muties allowed into the Meg (with a permit) still, or are new arrivals just consigned to the townships near the Meg (which, I feel, goes against what was originally desired)? Certainly, many mutants did make it in and reside in the Meg to this day, but I feel the whole story-arc, brilliant and engaging though it was, did not decisively settle the question and ultimate ongoing fate of these unfortunates.

Is this the final story-arc of 'Aquila'? If so, would there potentially be enough material for a second Ultimate Collection edition?

Quote from: IndigoPrime on 28 March, 2024, 05:35:05 PMHoping The Order isn't in one of those single slots, so we can get the entire run.

I don't get what you mean by this. One more book would complete the entire series. Please explain??

After hearing such good things about 'Charley's War', I decided to take the plunge and order the three volume set from Amazon. Although war stories are not really my thing, I am looking forward to reading what I hope will be another Pat Mills classic.

If regened has indeed bitten the dust, I for one will not be missing it.

I thought this was a rather better instalment of 'Deadworld' - I could almost comprehend everything in this week's storyline. This is due for a complete re-read of the entire thing sooner rather than later. In the meantime, another hardcover would not go amiss.

I didn't get my Thrillmail this week which usually comes through on a Wednesday night. Did everybody else get theirs?
Grateful if you could post to let me know.
