General / Ichabod Azreal: The Soundtrack
27 June, 2012, 10:26:36 AM
To mark the start of Ichabod series 2 I made a Spotify playlist soundtrack. Songs that kind of inspired the character and the series. And The Brian Jonestown Massacre's 'You Look Great When I'm F*cked Up' is Ichabod's theme song:

Books & Comics / ROBOCOP
06 November, 2009, 10:03:26 AM
Apologies for the self-publicising but people who like Low Life may want to check out my new Robocop series from Dynamite, out in January.

There's an interview and some preview art here:

It's got a similar sense of OTT comedy to Dirty Frank and co, I think. And let's face it, Robocop's basically just a Dredd copy anyway, right ;)

Classifieds / Simon Coleby art for sale
19 April, 2009, 11:00:35 AM
Due to increasing family size I'm having to sell some of my original art, which is a bit gutting but there you go.

This absolutely lovely Simon Coleby Silver Surfer and Galactus piece is going to the highest bidder:

Film & TV / The Wire Season 3
18 January, 2006, 04:15:29 PM
Bit late this, as I think Episode One started last night on the FX Channel on Sky, but it's bound to be repeated this week sometime.

Anyway, just a heads up that the third season of the best written/acted TV show possibly in the history of telly - THE WIRE - is now on UK TV. And the good news is it's every bit as wonderful as seasons 1 & 2. In fact, the penultimate episode of Season 3 is just about as good as TV gets.

Film & TV / The Shield Saturday night
08 August, 2005, 04:29:37 PM
Missed Saturday's episode due to my video messing up. Don't suppose anyone taped it and would be willing to post it to me? I'd replace the tape and cover postage.

Thanks

General / The Cursed Earth vehicle Corgi toy
10 May, 2004, 05:18:39 PM
You know the snazzy two-part vehicle that Dredd takes across The Cursed Earth in the classic story of same name? Well, when I was a kid I had a corgi toy of this, although it wasn't sold with a Judge Dredd label or anything to mark it out as vaguely 2000ADish.

Anyway, I was at my parents' at the weekend and my father had found this toy recently during a clean-out, and yes, it is the Dredd Cursed Earth vehicle.

So, anyone know what the score/history was with this? Did Corgi see the design in 2000AD (presumably McMahon's) and make a toy out of it? Or did McMahon copy the Corgi design?

Simon Pegg's recently done a webchat with empire online and he said he's talking to 2000AD about maybe doing "an extended spin off or graphic novel". That'd be fun.

Probably no new series' of Spaced though. Bastards.
