This stuff's a minefield 🤔
While I did go digital a while back (sorry for not checking Chunky's Android unavailability...), I'm one of those lucky gets who buys vinyl these days. Bumping an LP on and enjoying that needle-crackle, it cannot be beaten. Want to program that track you like? Or [repeat]? You can't. I recommend it. Maybe it's having a major resurgence, maybe - as suggested - it's not. I like to think that doesn't and shouldn't matter.
And CDs have always been hateful and unreliable things...

Chunky, absolutely.

While I would enjoy skipping those dastardly kiddie issues every so often, subscriptions are so cost-effective it's a no-brainer. But REAL comics hopefully last a bit longer. Will the collection's value (Tharg and non-Tharg) increase in the coming years? Could go either way, as the kids don't see the point in tree-based comics...?

Mumbling aside, I DO miss the Wednesday stroll to Smith's to pick up the prog. Took a wrench to kick that lovely habit..... (eek - 3 years ago now).

A nice gesture. Not sure Block Mania makes for escapism though 😜

I see your Editors and BBC... and raise you Mr John Shuttleworth.
This week in Glasgow and at time-of-writing, apparently, ON.
But watch this space.

Enjoyed that, though Skip Tracer and Zaucer aren't really for me.
Struck most of all that Lynch and Flint's art in the first two Thrills are wonderful disciples of McMahon. A Good Thing 😀
Proteus Vex needs a reread too, in order to appreciate what just happened to my eyes these past weeks....

I'm an occasional buyer who gets them direct from Hatchette. Unfortunately I've been getting a 'moving to a new warehouse' message on their website for quite some time now. Anyone know anything about this? How are they managing to service their subscribers without a warehouse? Nowhere near me sells it so I have to get these online.

Preorder from Forbidden Planet instead, man.

Amen.
Ages ago I picked some cherries and did just that till the end of the run.

Film & TV / Re: Inside No. 9 (BBC2)

Criticisms of the latest episode, I can't agree with. Simply stunning TV, what they've done in 30 mins here is wondrous. Those buggers seemed to have created a zeitgeisty tale this time, boring in itself. How the parts related I did wonder about. And then, the payoff dawns...

No spoilers above. I avoid this thread till I've watched it  :)

QuoteAntiques Roadshow is in the grounds of Salisbury Cathedral in Wiltshire, where experts discover an eclectic mix of treasures including Napoleon's razor, letters from Enid Blyton and a piece of Queen Victoria's underwear. There is plenty of sparkle from jewellery with a story to tell, and artworks including a hand-painted Christmas card from the Second World War and original drawings of Judge Dredd

He's a cut above, that MacNeil. Of course his hero is McMahon, they both experiment, muck about with styles just as you should!

I've only just realised after reading the covers uncovered post that the building on the cover has 2000AD written on it.
It's dynamic but a tad too subtle!

Dynamic but not a favourite cover. Also missed the building's '2000AD', perhaps the aim was be experimental and dispense with the main logo(s) (or however you want to term the title(s), there are threads dedicated to that kind of thing...) this time. I felt there was an 'MC' trying to get out, reading in another direction, but without being sure.

If you catch sight of the building's '2000AD' then that's 3 references on the cover - too many...

The original Get Ugly T-shirt has never been bettered - should remain 'in print' always 😀

It really worked well. You know anything is possible with the League, so guessing where it's going is hard to avoid. Detective shows and spotting clues aren't usually my thing, but here it's told with flair and humour and even violence (that hits home, given the ordinary setting). Fantastic.
