I'd like to stress that I wasn't being sarcastic, I'm genuinely in awe of your achievment, in a geeky sorta way.

If nothing else, it's encouraged me to start writing more letters to Tharg, which I didn't realise I'd missed doing until recently.

Bless you and your new lease of life. The letters page seems to be why you get up in the morning.

Had you always liked letters stats this much, or was it simply borne of compiling the database?

Okay Button, here's a question that should pose no problem for you - in the early 1200s (um.. probably no later than 1220?), I seem to remember either Simon Spurrier or Al Ewing had a star letter that was some sort of poem?

If I'm right (and I could have just imagined this) could you tell me which one?

Hmm, six folks above me...

I'd better get writin' again if I want to make my place a little more secure. I think this time I'll give up 'trying to be funny', though, those letters made me sound like a right idiot. And I miss the free TPBs...

Floyd Kermode is Scojo...

Heh heh.

Anyways, I'm the only 'James' on the list, my nickname here being Jimbo, and all.

And I think - god knows how I know this, but I think - that the 'Linton Porteous' who always used to write in is our very own Funt Solo (or whatever variation on Funt he currently is).

I shall make an effort in 2007 to write a bit more, if only for the free stuff. :-)

2006 was my slowest year. I only sent in a couple, because I ended up regretting having sent most of the letters I got printed, and thought I came across as a bit of a jerk in most of them. Plus the more I post here, the less inclination I feel to send Tharg a message.

I always wondered if Stephen Watson was a boarder. Nice to put an... um, icon, to the name.

Simon Fraser

2007 will see me pretty much devoted to Nikolai Dante, as we build up to the Endgame...

Gordon Rennie

Caballistics will probably be drawing to an end - of sorts - this year, although may return in some other guise...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Cabs and Dante ending? How will Tooth survive? Fuck that, how will I surive?

To be honest I'm glad there are definitive ends in sight - I'm certain both will go out with a bang and a ton of goodwill, and I'll always have fond memories of both - also means we can look forward to completing these series in graphic novel form one day soon rather than their just vaguely going on forever. Better to burn out than fade away.

Well I'm going to be holding out for the Absolute version, to go with volumes I and II. My wallet is already in tears. :-)

I think it's very much genuine. Most of that extra gubbins has been mooted pretty much since The Black Dossier was first announced, and usually by Alan himself, but it's been some time (a good year at least) since there was anything more officially confirmed. Last I heard, for instance, the record had been long since abandoned.

So it's great to hear from the bearded one himself that's it all still planned and imminent. Also thrilled to hear it's morphed slightly into a sort of 'source book' detailing the entire history of the League.

Safe to say I can't bloody wait.

Greys are people too, Doggy Carrots - their ways and culture aren't any less valid just because they look and behave differently to you and me. Having said that...

...they really do all look the same, don't they?
