Some of the avatars are being served as http rather https.

Chrome used to fire a warning about this, now it looks like it's simply blocking them.

Further info.

Some avatars are loading on a different URL eg:
https://forums.2000adonline.com/avatars_static/avatar_38348_1591634768.png

whereas the forum is at:
https://forums.2000ad.com

https://forums.2000adonline.com has an expired certificate, so Chrome refuses to load them.

I wonder if all the recent problems (like hacky purveyors of pr0n and Russian heavy plant equipment) are basically down to the fact that the forum software is ancient tech from the before times:

I mean, it says "XHTML", ffs. It was all the rage once, sure, but now it hangs its head in shame and lives in a thorny copse in a marsh, in the center of an abandoned traffic island in Grimsby.

I worry that if anyone pushes too hard on the Command Module door, they'll suddenly realize this thing is still running and just switch it off. Oh, that old thing - we all moved to FACE-SPACE ages ago. Join us...

Dear Forum,

Please update yourself so that you work properly again. Your smiley faces and avatars are not showing up. Ask that nice man with the shiny armor to help.

Yours sincerely,

I think this is happening again. Is there a process for shaking the Command Module droid-in-charge-of-ancient-dusty-Internet-corners awake and getting them to wiggle their certificate widget until our avatars and smiley faces show up again?

Also, my notifications haven't been working for ages. Has anyone tried turning the Command Module off and on again?
