More awesome news from the House of Tharg: DC Comics and 2000 AD are publishing THE BATMAN/JUDGE DREDD COLLECTION!

QuoteThis December, DC Comics and 2000 AD will publish THE BATMAN/JUDGE DREDD COLLECTION, collecting the epic crossover stories featuring Judge Dredd and the Dark Knight, originally released between 1991 and 1998. Written by Alan Grant and John Wagner and featuring art by Simon Bisley, Cam Kennedy, Carl Critchlow, Dermott Power, Glenn Fabry, Jim Murray and Val Semekis, the hardcover volume will include JUDGMENT ON GOTHAM #1, VENDETTA IN GOTHAM #1, THE ULTIMATE RIDDLE #1, and DIE LAUGHING #1-2. The collection will also include LOBO/JUDGE DREDD #1.

DC Comics will publish THE BATMAN/JUDGE DREDD COLLECTION domestically (U.S. and Canada) and internationally, and Rebellion/2000 AD will publish in the UK and Ireland, with digital editions available from both publishers.

loveforstitch - Does he fall in love? I like a little romance in all my movies.

Rekaert - Yes, he demonstrates it with bullets, punches and sentencing.

He's Mega City 1's own Don Juan.

I bought the previous collection, but I'll gladly buy this again purely for Vendetta in Gotham.

What a fight.

I'll be getting this for Vendetta in Gotham as well, had the mag version but it's been missing since the house fire almost seven years ago now.

It's all right, that's in every contract.
That's what they call a sanity clause.
You can't fool me, there ain't no sanity clause.

I've wanted to read these stories for a while, at least for the Batman stories, although I'm curious about Lobo.

I'm glad I waited as this seems to be pretty comprehensive.

Actually, what this book should really also have are the Dredd stories Megaman, Fairlyhyperman and, especially, Bat Mugger.

I was actually kind of upset when I found out the original Dredd/Batman collection was missing a story. Might have to pick this up!

This is a refreshingly keep-at-barge-pole-distance announcement for me.  A nice change from gnawing-desire-to-possess that accompanies most releases from the HoT.

Yes, with the exception of Vendetta- which i love for the art and The Ventriloquist- im afraid i reckon the dredd/batman teamups as some of the worst 2000ad things ive ever read, and as far as the lobo one goes, one of the worst comics ive ever read (or got partway through and thrown away, i should say) full stop. At this point in the cross-atlantic reprint saga, i'd honestly prefer a dry run/junker hardback.

So, not for me im afraid. Wouldnt say no to a collected dredd/predator reprint though- perhaps collected with dredd/aliens?

I have never read any of these so I'll definitely be having a copy.

The Lobo cross-over is a great wee story and genuinely funny. Mean Machine's in it too!
