The cyclist is not the bad guy in this - your mechanics are.  Tell them to go fuck themselves.

Do it now.  We'll wait.

Grugz

spent 2 hours looking round my lass' future high school last night and realised my little girl is growing up (sniff)  :'(

she even passed up the chance of setting a teacher on fire and we blew up a jelly baby.
I also soon remembered I can't stand/walk around for two hours anymore and paid for that later.

So having suffered from M.E. (or CFS, whichever name you prefer) for over seven years my doctor decided to attempt to treat it with a type of steroid. Obviously M.E. is a condition which can't really be treated as such, but there was hope that the steroids would help me manage my energy levels and give me a boost.

Instead of doing that the steroids have burned the inside of my stomach, meaning I'm now desperately hungry but physically unable to eat. The constant pain and feeling of being on the verge of vomiting isn't helping matters much either? :(

Report your doctor to the appropriate authorities, that big a fuck up can't be allowed to go unpunished.

Dandontdare

When did you get your medical degree Hawk?

ME is a condition that's still largely a mystery to medical science. Doctor's will try treatments that they think will help but they don't always work, and I'm sure the doctor was trying this in good faith; so unless there was clear evidence that this would be the outcome. it's ridiculous to call for "punishment". Nobody forces a patient to accept medical treatment, all he needs to do is go back to his doctor and they will change his treatment.

It is listed as a potential side effect of the steroids, I was just unlucky enough to be on the receiving end of one of the more severe side effects. I certainly don't attach any blame to my Doctor, who has previously helped a lot with my M.E.

Well, thats alright then. My initial post was far to harsh anyway and shouldn't be taken seriously. As DDD quite rightly points out, i'm not qualified to judge a working professional in this capacity.

Apologise all round, chaps, and I hope Tim's (current) ailment passess as swiftly as possible, and hope future treatment is more successful.

No worries Hawkmonger. I'm slowly showing signs of recovery; i.e. I'm actually able to eat solid foods again now, albeit not much of it.

Thanks for the concern everyone. :)

Hawkmonger - you should read Ben Goldacre's book Bad Pharma. It'll open your eyes to just how little we the public - and I include doctors in that - are told about the side effects of the drugs we are given.

or you could just read the leaflet that comes with every medication...

...oh, and don't take iboprufen if you are on warfarin , you will die.

..if you are on warfarin...

I'd stay away from that rat full stop - huge thing, and vicious.

That sounds utterly shite, Tim - hope your stomach at least is on the mend.

Grugz

actually,i'm wondering if I can start a new career as a rat catcher/exterminator? if I bite a rat it could pass on the warfarin and kill them...that or create a new species of warfarin resistant zombie rats.
