Cartoonist extraordinaire Lew Stringer has put up a post on his Blimey! blog about a new Dave Gibbons interview at IGN.  It also includes a little preview of his work on 2000AD's new collection of his classic Dan Dare strips:

For anyone interested, Lew also brought Dave on board for an issue of satirical kids' comic Oink! in the late 80s to draw Lew's The Superhero's Day Off strip.  In a shameless plug for my own blog you can see this marvellous piece of his work here:

I don't know if anyone else has posted this elsewhere on the forum but this is just an amazing cover by Dave Gibbons. Dan Dare was the main reason I started reading 2000AD and along with Judge Dredd who was also my joint favourite.  They were usually followed by flesh and the others...It was really sad when Dan sped off into space some two years later never to be seen again.

I'm really excited now and even though I have all the early copies of 2000AD. They are bagged so its a pain in the bottom to try and read the Dan Dare series.  Can't Wait. :D

I like it... but is it just me or does Dan look a bit like bit like a stage magician MCing at a to heavily tooled up rock gig?

I don't think you look like a stage magician!
