What's going on with the white frames around text?

I noticed it in the last (digital) prog on titles.

This is an ongoing thing with the digital version of the prog

Skip Tracer just became a dull mess for me. Thankfully it finishes next issue but will return in Prog 2100. Drokk!

Skip Tracer seams like one of those stories where people either love or hate it. I believe that with a new strip we should give it some time to establish itself. I do like Johnny Alpha, Slaine and the more establish characters but I still want to read something new as well.  Brink for example is something that never came running out of the blocks and was always a slow burner. Now before everyone get out their pitch forks and try to burn me at the stake, I am not comparing the two I am just trying to say just imagine Brink was canned because it was to slow for some readers.

Most cases everyone is quite considerate regarding spoilers. I only get the prog on Wednesday and I will always read the site reviews and previews beforehand. So I know that sometimes someone will let the cat out the bag and I am fine with it.

Dredd – I really like Chris Weston’s art. Nice detail on the city and it looks Mega again.  I can remember my first encounter with Weston art on Indigo Prime and at the time I did not really like it at the time but gosh his art has grown into one of the best Dredd artists lately.  The story is a significant improvement on last week dud.

Skip Tracer – This episode is action packed and now have a clearer path where it is heading towards.

The Order – one of my favourite recent thrills. Love the story and art.

Deadworld – great art that really suites the story. Kek-W keeps on delivering.

Durham Red – more of the same but I must agree that I preferred Ben Willsher’s art

Wildcat 1 – Turbo Jones Paperback  – 10 Jan 2019

Turbo Jones was just one of the Wildcat characters ? So if this is vol 1 the rest of the Wildcat characters will each get a separate volume ? If this is the case I will look out for this next year

I haven't given up, honest. Just had to pause for a while to hunt out the necessary back-Megs and long-forgotten Specials to do justice to...

General / Re: Why I like British Comics
« on: 30 June, 2018, 10:17:21 AM »
I went complete digital and now it is like a complete new world has opened to me. Where I stay it is now almost impossible to get 2000 AD in the news agencies. The 200 AD online shop has all the latest titles in digital format as well.

I prefer British Comics to the American ones because I can only absorb so much superheroes stories. The American market is flooded with the same character in different costumes. Every few years their is another rebirth of the same characters. Multiple cross-overs with gazillion characters that you never read about or new existed. 2000 AD is 100X superior to their American counterparts.

As weekly showcases for action art and hardware design, each episode was good fun. Go back and read any episode in isolation*; they're great! Just don't treat them as graphic novels.

Yes this is true when the strip started (as many of teh 70s and 80s strips) but when it was established their is many cases where we have a continues story-line. The purpose of Rogue always was to get the traitor.  Maybe it fizzled after the traitor was out of the picture. I still believe it works as a graphic novel for me even on the toilet

Cover - did not like the cover since I believe that McCarthy's art does not suite the style of Deadworld

Dredd - I do like the occasionally Dredd once-off but this one did not work for me. The setup was good but the whole thing fell flat with the rush ending and read more like a documentary than a Dredd story.

Skip Tracer - continue as previously, keeping me intrigued on what is behind the story

The Order - glad this series is back. Wonderful art by Burns

Durham Red and Deadworld - more of the same as the previous episodes, still great

Solis prog but let down by a weaker Dredd strip

Talking about Edginton, will we ever see the next chapter of Helium ?

In progress with Tiernan Trevallion on art duties, I believe. Very much looking forward to that.

Great, Tiernan Trevallion on art duty not a bad choice if mister D'Israeli is to busy with Scarlet Traces

I asked Mr Edginton this very question at a signing last year, and he told me there’s gonna be one more book when he gets chance to get on with it. They need one more to have enough for the collected edition, it seems! Lovely fella.

I would really like Stickleback to return but Edginton has a lot of strips ongoing. I can wait for the return of Kingmaker as well as the next chapter of Brass Sun. Scarlet Traces is another one that we are waiting for to return

I wonder if a Winter-Special is being proposed along the same lines?

It is going to be an all male cast of writers, artists, colorers and letters . Something quite unique for the industry
