I have read Asterix/Tintin in two different languages (French was not one of them). I must say that maybe I am biased but I did find the jokes worked better in my language than English. I will ask my one friend whom is quite versed in French if that statement held true

I agree Kot worked for me when he took Devlin over. My problem or my feeling about Indigo Prime was always divided, I am not sure if I like or not (so currently I am leading more to the later).

PS - In a perfect world we would have John Smit still writing for the prog. I also misses his distinct voice

A good prog with some minor bumps on the road.

Dredd – The epilogue rather than just wrapping up the current storyline it opens new threats and possibilities. Even the chief judge does not look safe as we are entering a new phase where the thrust has been broken. This was an excellent run with Flint taking center stage.

Indigo Prime – Not always the most coherent story for me and the new series continues in that vein. For some time now I felt like do we really need this to continue or is it best to sunset this. I will keep judgment for later.

Thistlebone – The creepiest continue and again some really create imagery by Simon Davis.

Deadworld – see Indigo Prime for a similar take. I do not have  any issues with the art and it works excellent with the atmosphere of the story.

Full Tilt Boogie – This new series has heavily focused on using art as a way of telling the story and this last episode continues that trend. This is a very enjoyable series with some top-notch art.

I watched Dune - Part 2 on Imax this weekend and it was brilliant. If you liked part 1 go and see this on the big screen. The FX was done is such a realistic way that it put all these superheroes FX to a shame. The sound and music really enhanced the movie as well. A very good adoption of the book - again for all those wannabe writers that think they can do better job than the source material you can learn from this (I am looking at you Amazon for destroying Wheel of Time)

Quote from: Tomwe on 01 March, 2024, 12:12:27 PMAlso, just so I'm clear, the 'Battle vol2' trade collects the miniseries, that's right yes?

Yes, but apparently their is two additional stories. I am not sure if they new or reprint as well - can anyone confirm this?

I know a lot of you guys wanted the Maitland experiment to work but that would have killed the thing that makes MC1 so interesting: the madness, stupidity the ultra violence, the psychos , the simpletons. What type of stories would we have if all sectors where happy and peaceful - picking flowers, making tea or just how to hula-hoop stories.

I also think that Hernandez let Domo out and left him the sniper rifle to do what he was hired for in the first place to get rid of Maitland. I think next week episode might be more straight forward and Dredd over time take down the Hernandez faction.

Quote from: norton canes on 28 February, 2024, 05:46:12 PMThat double page spread is of course presented on two separate pages in the digital prog (at least, that's how my CBR file reader's done it).

I use CDisplayEx and it has a setting where can view it in Double Page mode, so you can see it in its fully glory.
