Is this the cartoon? I was a big fan of the comic and so checked out the cartoon a while ago now and remember it was pretty good fun. Not sure when that came out though?

Edit: Oh right the cartoon was 1994 (where does the time go!) and this appears to be a live action series I didn't even know existed. How intriguing. To Lovefilm...

They Might be Giants

I was going nuts listening to my daughters CDs of nursery rhymes until a friend recommended some children's CDs by They Might be Giants. In a flash I ordered 'Here come the 1,2,3s' and 'Here come the a,b,c's' and at least one of um blooming great. The little un went to bed happy after watching the DVD up to 'High Five' while dad listened to the rest quite happily while doing the dishes.

Tell me another children's song that has lyrics like this

"We share the same omniverse
Please clean your room
We share the same omniverse
And even though you are over here and not there
There's just one everywhere"

Burger King and MacDonalds were the angry ones.

I think it was actually Green Giant who were the angry ones, then editorial decided to also 'ban' the other episodes, just to be safe.

I think!

Yeah I certainly think that was the case, as told in Thrill-power Overload. Hence the actual amusing apology to the Jolly Green Giant. In theory, a bit like Clockwork Orange the ban on Burger Wars is self imposed?

Progs 71-72 have Burger Wars story in them and Progs 77 and 78 have the other banned story Soul Food.

There's another in the 1200's that never got out and about. Aside from that don't think so?

Edited to add: Beaten to it!

With such a fine year again for covers I'm not really surprised the votes were so scattered around. I placed the first two Tharg covers but my number one didn't get too many more votes. Just goes to show 2000ad is the comic that offers more! Its interesting to compare the covers we've just finished voting on the the kind of covers that are maing cover of the year lists over in the US market. Have to say while there is some very good stuff any number of 2000ad works would make those lists.

Anyway big thanks to Pete for all his efforts (and making all the covers so easy to look through).

since iconic images of Tharg are all the rage it would seem maybe time to get a Tharg story back in the Prog?

As ever fantastic review Grant but no mention of one of the great over the top comic book villains in Artie Grubber?

One thing I'd not notice before is the cover stating "Official 2050 Aeroball Almanac". Nice touch.

There's a few more ideas here (well a lot of discussion to be honest). Well worth a look through the thread the five pages will fly by.

Bit of a long thread but well worth a look through as it discusses just this topic. Loads of good stuff out there.

Help! / Re: kid's school "moodle"

Moodle is what's called a VLE (Virtual Learning Environment). The set up will be different from establishment to establishment but typically your Moodle login will default to whatever username and password you use to log into the school network (assuming the school has one?). If you've not tried that its a good starting point.
