Heh, nice to see that we agree on some things ;-)

I really do miss the sense that nothing was fixed in old 2000AD, and it's been a while since anything really surprised me in the prog. That's not to say what we get isn't *good* - most of the time the stories that run in there are great, or even at worst, competent. It's just that it's rare to get anything really shocking, or different these days. Wraparound covers, Starscans, Supercovers, Dredd in the middle of the prog, one-off tales given months to tell an epic, involving story... I miss all of this stuff.

Risk-taking doesn't always = running a naff future sports story... ;-)

Phil Winslade also did "Goddess"- I remember at a convention Garth Ennis citing him as a soon to be "star".That was about 10 years ago !

He is very, very good though.That Dredd looks great!

Also great to see Peter Doherty back too- it's been too long
