Round 3 heads towards its conclusion and things aren't getting any easier. It's time to start thinking about how hard Round 4 is gonna be cos lets face it as we near having just 64 thrills left we know they are all (well almost all) gonna be beauties and the tough ties we see this week will be the regular head scratchers in a couple of weeks time. Arh remember how easy Round 2 was!
Inspectre comes into this Round bruised after a tough tie with Bato Loco last time. It fought its way through only to hit Defoe - who brushed aside Bradley unsurprisingly in the previous round. Can he stay on his feet, or will with tough draw prove too much?

Just reply in this thread naming your favourite thrill of these two series at the beginning of your post (or use Bold tags so I can spot it easily) and say what you like about these wonderful stories after that.
Match ends early on the morning of Friday 24th June and the winner gets a place in Round 4 (of 9!!!).
What on Earth is ALL of this? (https://forums.2000ad.com/index.php?topic=48011.0)
For those that need 'um and can be bothered to follow 'um there's some simple rules (https://forums.2000ad.com/index.php?topic=48011.msg1070150#msg1070150)

Defoe.
Defoe.
The sinister vibe of The Inspectre was lovely...
but it can't touch the grubby delights of Defoe, arguably Mills's most consistently excellent thrill (The Colin McNeil series was my least favourite, but that's still miles better than the worst of Sláine, ABCs and even Nemesis...)
Defoe
Defoe, grudgingly.

I would struggle to disagree with this assessment. :-)
I suppose The Inspectre never quite got the chance to shine. Defoe wins because of the astounding art.
Let's go Defoe!
Defoe
Not a big fan of Defoe and I prefer Leigh Gallagher's work on Kingmaker, but it's good enough here.
This one is pretty clear cut and with a day to go there isn't much to play for, but still well worth getting your veiw heard. I'll wrap up in the morning.
I haven't read the strip since it first appeared, but I do recall Inspectre being one of the shoots of recovery in a Meg that was really starting to struggle.
Does this make it better than Defoe IMO? I won't know without a reread but it doesn't deserve a shutout.
So...
Inspectre
I liked Defoe more at the start than at the end, and I remember being impressed with The Inspectre at a time when the Meg wasn't all that great.
I will vote The Inspectre, largely because of the disappointment I felt with how Defoe ended up going.

VOTING CLOSED
As straightforward as they come this one. Not much reflection just vote and vote for Defoe. Inspectre did get some support and certainly deserved to hold it own a little better maybe... be then I'm no fan of Defoe, but regardless of that fact
Defoe
will be firing shots of ball into Round 4

To be fair, notwithstanding the little-loved
Defoe In Space! last book, it's unquestionably the better thrill.
