but I'm not a fan of Carlos Ezquerras art work on Judge Dredd. Compared to the the beautiful work of Greg Staples, or Nick Percival's incredible art work on "Good night kiss" CQ just doesn't cut it.

Probably the most controversial statement ever on this board. I've only become vaguely familiar with Nick Percival through the Mega Collection.  He also drew Sleaze N Ryder. I'm not a fan.

I like Carlos on Dredd although I don't put him at the top of the 'Big 4' Dredd artists. With me being old I do associate Carlos more with Strontium Dog and his work on Battle (Rat Pack, Major Eazy).

**PREDICTABLE CHOICES ALERT**

If its epics then

1 - The Cursed Earth;
2 - The Day the Law Died;
3 - The Judge Child Quest;
4 - The Apocalypse War;
5 - possibly Origins

You can't beat the early stuff in my opinion as the whole Dredd world was still so new and unexplored.

Just read that Alan Hebden is going to be at this as well.

For someone like me that is a great line-up they have managed to get for this.

The only caveman character I can think of is Tor which was a Joe Kubert creation. I don't think that's him though and I'm inclined to agree its likely a 2000AD celebrity. The way he is just looking forward at the reader. I've never seen Garry Leach so I'm just wondering if its him?

I think the female is likely a Spirit character as her arm is locked with his.

No idea about the spear though.

White Dogshit! Haven't seen that in years!

Cheers

There is an explanation for that which I recall hearing on James O'Brien's mystery hour. Apparently Dog Food used to have something like chalk in it which led to the white colouration. Its not in the feed anymore so you no longer see it.

This just made me realise that Alan Moore had not yet disowned V for Vendetta.

I would read the article fully though if the title had been:

Alan Moore
Author D.R. & Quinch.

This was in the latest edition of Previews. Good to see they are going with the proper uniform colour.

Quotepeople like Simon Pegg and Daniel Craig don't have anything extra to bring to the table. Again they could have put me in their roles

I think this is somewhat missing the point - they were clearly anonymous by design. Had Pegg and Craig been recognisable in their cameos, it would have been totally distracting.[/quote]

I didn't really have any point to make about Simon Pegg and Daniel Craig. I was making the point about The Raid actors being wasted in the roles they were given. Another post stated that it was no different to some of the other famous cameos but I don't think it was.

Anyway I don't even find Daniel Craig distracting when he's in a James Bond film. Bring back Roger.

I've been selling some of my old (and some more recent) comics on ebay and I think putting a run or limited series up is more likely to sell than single issues for US comics. They may buy the run for one particular issue but if you sell them individually you could be left with a lot of issues that no one wants.

Speaking of which the Marvel Ultimate Universe comics must be the most unwanted comics ever. I couldn't give them away. Probably down to Bendis taking 25 issues to tell a story other writers might tell in 1.

I wasn't aware of that at all. Strangely Prog 61 is my favourite cover and I do have that RPG book but I don't remember ever looking at them and going "wait a minute".

I also wasn't aware of any alleged copying of Bolland and Gibbons work. Shows how observant I've been. Anyone have any examples of these?

To be fair to Brett Ewins he still did have a style distinctive from the others (in my eyes anyway). I have a vague memory of Alan Davis not being best pleased with some of Bryan Hitch's early work.

Clifton James has died at 96 years.

"What are you? Some kind of doomsday machine boy?"

It is a nice piece of art.

However I would also love to see a print of the Garry Leach Werewolf illustration.

Did McMahon do the colours as well as the art for the series? I cant remember now.

I have to say, looking at the scan, the background really does have a Bill Sienkiewicz feel to it. I don't think he would have done it as he was probably too big a name then but it does remind me of his art style at that time.

This is a colour version of the image that Maryanddavid put up recently. Scan quality might not be great.

This is from my copy of Cadillacs & Dinosaurs #1, published by Epic Comics and cover dated November 1990. I had a lot of Epic Comics from that period so I knew I must have had a colour version somewhere.

Maybe but people like Simon Pegg and Daniel Craig don't have anything extra to bring to the table. Again they could have put me in their roles.

When I heard they had brought in actors from The Raid I was expecting expertly choreographed Darth Maul style fight scenes.  The only thing I thought was strange was that it seemed to be very late on in the filming that they were announced.

Anyway I don't want to sound childish but Rogue One is better than The Force Awakens and that's the end of it. Argument finished.
