My only problem now  is do I file it in the box with progs 1-100 or in the Sci Fi Specials and Starlord and Diceman box?

If we're classing this as an official Prog, then I'd say file it before Prog 1!

Well I wasn't expecting that! I'm a double sub but get the Meg digitally so when opening what I thought was this weeks Prog I was at first surprised as it seemed bigger than expected ... then to my surprise I realised it was Prog 0!

As Richard says its a really, really nice product. Oversized, nice paper and looks pretty much spot on. Absolutely chuffed to have this, so much so that I've not even thought of the disappointment of it not being a Saturday Prog.

THANK YOU THARG!

I'm only a single subbed to The Megazine so didn't expect this to see this at all, but I'm most grateful that I did!!!
Thanks Thargy baby!!!!!

James Wan is and always has been atrociously over represented in major motion horror pictures.

Probably that Saw legacy.  I never understood the love for that film.  I watched Saw 2 in its entirety (it is shit) but I couldn't make it through the first one.  So very boring.

Yep, put me down as someone who never got the appeal of the Saw movies either.
The more a delve into Wan's output, I come to the conclusion that it's an emperor's New clothes deal and he is in fact a bit of a hack.

I've fallen out of love with Croneberg of late, as his output has been patchy at best.
Let's hope that this is more of a return to form, harking back to his greats like Rabid and Videodrome

Malignant.
What an absolute dud. As if director, James Wan had briefly flicked through the A-Z of Giallo Horror and thought I can do that.
A woefully tedious police procedural subplot, gives way to a gore drenched, and mildly attention grabbing, batshit crazy final act that lacked any of the style and flair that someone like Argento would have brought to the material.
One to avoid.

General / Re: Do you remember 1989?

Second year of proper work and a vague attempt to be an adult.
I can only imagine that I spent far too much time on the Commodore Amiga at the time and visiting local hostelries, while contemplating my future life choices!
Great year for gigs though and music in general.
Guns 'N Roses, Magnum, Ozzy, Soundgarden, King's X, Iron Maiden and Zeppelin were on the playlist at the time and, all these years later, still are!  :)

How about this drokking cool Dredd poster by Ruiz Burgos?
Whack that on a Blu-ray/4K Steelbook for the 10th anniversary next September and I shall definitely multiple dip!!!!  :)

News / Re: Hiya Toys Judge Dredd range?

Just bitten the bullet and splashed out on a RoboCop figure from Hiya Toys and I'm very happy with how detailed it is and the size, it bodes very well from a 2000AD line of figures.

Not sure what other 1/18 scale figures from other manufacturers come in at, but for an idea of scale, Robo was a couple of millimetres taller than a vintage Han Solo figure from Kenner.

but I really hope they can go further with the line.  Even if it's just a Sov Judge in cloak to go against Dredd.

Pretty sure 3A cancelled the whole 2000AD series in JUL 2018 and later on in AUG 2019, Ash/3A company split from Kim/ThreeZero and then ceased business altogether.
Have read online rumours of a 3A rebirth using their licensed robot figures.
So like any new 1/12 releases from ReAction, Legendary Comic Book Heroes or Mezco, chances are slim to none.  :(

I see HIYA TOYS have pre-orders for 2 x 1/18th versions of the ARMORED PERSONNEL CARRIER (US/Meg spelling and $299 USD price = oww!) from the ALIENS movie.
They did produce a 1/18 RIPLEY'S LOADER (final scenes from ALIENS) that was $79.99 USD.
Very popular and sold out quickly but just like 3A collectors suffered, only available for high prices from scalpers online, if you did not pre-order early from HIYA to secure one.
Grud damned expensive hobby.
Which gives hope to HIYA potentially releasing Mek's or vehicles in the future.
Sentenoids? Hov-tanks? Manta's? or ALL of the original ABC WARRIORS including MekQuake? (if it was 3A they would be teasing with a prototype of JUSTICE-1 priced at $666 USD).
:) :D ;) :P :o

edit: Fairly sure 3A re-visited MONGROL and RO-JAWS during the 1/12 re-launch, so add them to the list of released 2000AD fig's in 1/6 and 1/12.
Right at the end 3A also teased a re-scaling of THARG prototype, complete with polystyrene cups in 1/12 scale  :P

I was lucky enough to see the proposed 1/12 Tharg and Strontium Dog figures from 3A at the 2000AD Birthday bash in London and can concur that they looked fantastic!
There was also a head sculpt of Old One Eye/Flesh that Ashley Wood was sure would never see the light of day, but was done more for what could be.

Back to Hiya Toys, if they start doing Judge Dredd related vehicles, I really hope that they can wrestle the Land Raider rights away from Mattel:)

I watched someone review the recent RoboCop figure from Hiya on YouTube and have to say I was very impressed with the detail and the amount of articulation for something so diminutive.
Gives me hope for any 2000AD range.
The Alien and Predator figures look pretty cool too.
I've splashed out on previous Dredd/AD figures in the past, including the ones from ReAction, 3A even the Marvel Legends ones, but a new manufacturer of 2000AD merchandise on the scene is most welcome and worth supporting, especially if we want more in the future.  :)

I think if Hiya pitch these figures in line with their other lines at around £20, they'll have a better chance of shifting them.
The 3A range were great but probably out of reach, price wise, for most buyers, particularly casual ones.
