I used a refund from Amazon to pick up Torment: Tales of Numenera last week. Loaded it up on the PS4 and started a new game. Within three 'clicks' I'd managed to get 'Game Over' and had to restart from scratch. At least I managed to pick up the 'Terminal Velocity' achievement in the process. (Probably the fastest achievement I've ever got on PC or console!)

Having got past the 'prologue' I'm not really too sure about the game itself. I rate Planescape: Torment as one of the great (narrative) RPGs of all time but so far Numenera feels a little too much like 'read a heap of text, make a choice, progress to next heap of text and make another choice or die and start again, making a different choice'. I don't yet 'feel' like my character is much more than a puppet at the moment. Not sure if that's because the retro isometric game play is not as immersive as modern 3D, 360° open world RPGs, or just the story hasn't hooked me yet.  :-\

I mean there was a alot of reading (and dying) in Planescape Torment, so maybe it's on the money?

Supreme Pizza Of The DPRK

Got Dawn Of War for $1 from the charity shop. Have got my moneys worth and then some. I forgot how much fun this game was. A proper feeling RTS unlike the 2nd one..haven't played 3 yet, but really there is no need at the moment :D

Theblazeuk

I really, really enjoyed 2 over 1. It wasn't a proper RTS I admit but it was something of its own, a great co-op game/skirmisher. So many hours spent with my friends and then took a new life with the survival mode.

Mardroid

Skyrim for PS3.

Having read good things and seeing it going for £3.00 at CEX, I decided to give it a go.

So far, pretty good. I haven't gotten very far yet, and I need to get used to the controls, inexplicably finding myself hitting the 'square' button when I should be pressing R1 when fighting...

I wish there was a lock-on facility when fighting.

I really want to get to grips with the archery too. I usually find the bad guys get up close by the time I want to launch, so I need to switch to melee. (So why not just stick with melee? I like archers I guess.)

The shere amount of stuff going on I actually find a bit off-putting, (not really a complaint, it's just a little overwhelming. Craft this, mine that, skills and perks and whatnot. Oh, and you can cook and stuff too.) although I'm aware I don't have to get into all that straight away. This sort of game is what you make it. I like action rpg games, and the open-world is great, but I do find myself feeling a bit lost...

Anyway, first game I have played in a couple of years, apart from a recent Arkham Asylum where I kept getting shot because I couldn't rely on the gargoyles any more. (They explode! Hee hee. )

The Doctor Alt 8

Started playing Skyrim special edition (NO still can't get the Mods to work HELP)

Also playing Tamriel Online...even though I "lost" last years character at level 35! (Nope. couldn't get her back because in order to join the forum to make a complain... you have to be invited to join the forum by a current account holder. HAD to start ALL OVER AGAIN lost all my equipment despite the fact that I pay the £9. premium membership.

Would be playing Gardiens of the Galaxy....but I am bloody stuck at the first puzzle!

Tekken 7. In the arcades of Tokyo. Took a number of extreme pastings  and one memorable victory before I realised that I didn't actually have to play a global vs match but standard single player mode was buried somewhere in the menu. It's hardly revolutionary but it looks good and I'm just happy we're getting a Tekken game on the current console generation.

The most popular games were this, Taiko Drumming Hero and various incomprehensible rhythm action games including one which is basically Virtua Jean-Michel Jarre!

I love Tekken but was unsure of the new game after watching a couple of videos. It certainly looks good but I'm wondering if I should bother - even more so now that it looks like Baek* has been removed.

Cheers

Tales from the Borderlands by Telltale Games. Its on sale at present in the Xbox marketplace (£3 or £4). Really good. Helps if you are a fan of the Borderlands games but if you weren't this would probably make you go out and play those games.

Episode 2 has  a great opening/title credit scene.

Picked up Just Cause 3 for a tenner. I've eschewed the missions and am just batgliding around blowing shit up. Massive explosions everywhere. So cathartic.

It's very pretty. I'd do more missions, but the loading times are a bit of a drag.

Fallout 4

I should be saving my son but I keep wandering into random buildings and killing everything instead.
