>Dredds face has been seen. It was during the Mean Angel storyline. A panel of this story shows robotic midwives with tanks in their stomachs. These tanks contain clones. Above each midwife there is a picture of the host. There is a picture, we are told, of Cheif judge Fargo but we were told during the recent Rico story that the clone was in fact Dredd.

The panel you are on about appears in the first episode of ?Dredd Angel? Prog 377; McGruder is briefing Dredd about the 5 midwife robots that were on their way to Texas City.

?Clones taken from our city?s greatest heroes ? Judge Fargo ? Father of Justice, Judges Goodman, Hansar, Rubins, Mandela ? Their Names and deeds are legend.?

Above each clone midwife Ron Smith drew the image of that Judge.
As Dredd was being briefed by McGruder she didn?t tell him the truth that the Fargo clone was in fact a clone of him, so the picture is of Fargo, not Dredd.
It?ll be another 15 years before some fan boy mentions the Texas clone over a pint and the New Rico then appears in Blood Cadets, Prog 1186.

>well in the McMahon strip The Return of Rico there's a panel where both Dredd?s are shooting at the range.

Simon Fraser drew both Dredd?s full on with no helmets, although they were about 5, in Blood Cadets.
In both cases I doubt that a couple of inked lines would give you any idea of how Dredd would look in later years. Plus I don?t really care, Dredd should keep the helmet on, and if Dredd?s face is ever to be drawn then unless its done by Carlos it aint the real thing.

Nonsense! Dredd's been seen sans helmet at least eleven times:

The Return of Rico (Prog 30)
Mutie the Pig (part 2, Prog 35)
The Oxygen Desert (part 2, Prog 49)
Face-Changers (Prog 52)
The Day the Law Died (part 2? - ?, Prog 90? - ?)
The Apocalypse War (part 18, Prog 262)
Cry of the Werewolf (part 6 - 7, Prog 327 - 328)
A Case for Treatment (Prog 389)
City of the Damned (part 1, Prog 393)
In the Bath (Prog 626)
A Letter to Judge Dredd (Prog 651)
Not sure if pervert or cheesecake expert.

Generally Contrary

The story that originated this thread involved the 'Treasures of Liberace's Tomb' - the kind of thing that has fallen out of favour in Dredd storylines of late.  I''ve gottah say, I miss 'em.

Wasn't there also a glimpse of Fargo's face in that Hot Dog Run story?

Or has someone mentioned this already?

Welcome to the party Joe.

Way to resurrect a 3½ year old Blast From The Past thread from the vaults!

After decades of face change machine makeovers, being shot through the head, transformation into a werewolf, having his eyes gouged out then replaced with bionic implants, his features ravaged by Cursed Earth acid burns, reconstructive surgery, etc. etc. etc., grud knows what JD's fizzog looks like now.

One thing's for sure - it ain't pretty!
