Accordingly this article and preview the Best Of has been postponed to next year:

Hope things don't go tits up on this one. You hear rumours of problems at IDW. Fingers crossed.

This was a another fine FCBD offering, showing off a really lovely design

Dredd seemed a wee bit heavy-handed when (ineffective) peaceful democratic agitation hasn't previously been an actual crime, but it was very funny and gave a good introduction to MC-1 and the man himself. Great to see Ewing dipping his toe, and Erica Henderson's bouncy art suits the tone.

Choice of reprint bodes well, for the series: a particularly strong Rogue one-parter from Rennie and master-of-pecs Elson that I've no memory of, a very atmospheric Anderson that shows how much Ranson is missed, and a fun Durham Red with Carlos at his brightest.

If Irish squaxx are lacking a copy, Big Bang has a good few, and Covid-19 measures in store are as strict as any stickler could wish.

Did Arthur Ranson retire ? He is my all-time favorite Anderson artist.
When I die, I want to die like my grandfather who died peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in his car.

Old age is the Lord's way of telling us to step aside for something new. Death's in case we didn't take the hint.

I found the real world parallels of the Dredd story particularly pertinent, especially as it was written long before current events.

I believe the Rogue Troopet story was written for a one shot convention comic, as a tie in to the Redux release of the video game, if I'm not mistaken.

Oh yeah, love Ranson's work, he's my definitive Anderson artist too!
Was lucky enough to get him and Alan Grant to sign my Shamballa collection at the 2000AD 40TH bash.

Anybody else see a resemblance between the anti-democratic assassin in Dredd and despot-in-exile King Trout?

Colin YNWA

I've ended up with two of these so if anybody would like a copy let me know and I'll pop it in the post (might be next weekend before I get to a post office mind)

Thanks Colin, arrived in pristine condition. As did the second copy you put in ;-)

That's right folks, there's another copy going spare if someone still hasn't managed to grab one. Free to whoever asks first!

Cheers
