Haven't finished it yet, but I've been continuing my first time read of the Dredd stories (1200ish-1600) that I missed in my time away. Bloody hell! Firstly Flints art is sublime. The 3 full page spreads on the evacuation of Ezra Pound Block,
the nuclear explosion
and the aftershot were possibly some of the most chilling panels I've read in Toof. You get the big numbers reeled off in Dredd so often, X million in Necropolis, X billion in Judgement Day, none of them brought in the scale of the death toll well. These panels really did. All this comes on the back of a great storyline. The procedural work by Dredd and Roffman is great. The info that PSU have can sometimes seem overwhelming, how can anyone get away with anything in MC1 with them watching, so its nice to see them working through the evidence. The subplot with Vienna and Nimrod works well to counterpoint the enormity of what is going on against a personal life and death decision. Excellent stuff. Mr Wagner should never be allowed to retire and we should nick Mr Flints passport.
