Title: The Hole in the Ground
Post by: paddykafka on 13 February, 2019, 01:31:58 PM
For those of you who are old enough to recall this song, here is a wonderfully eerie rendition of it, as recorded by the sublimely talented Lisa Hannibal for the soundtrack of an upcoming new Irish horror film "The Hole in the Ground".

"Super creepy song alert!
I recorded a version of the Irish playground song 'Weile Waile' for the The Hole in the Ground, which opens tonight in Dublin (and I am building up the courage to go and see). Proceed with caution...

Recorded in Orphan Recording last year in the snow.

First of all this version is amazing and that film looks brillaint.

Second, this playground song is about a woman who murders her baby and is hung for it. It's seriously messed up but I remember learning it as a child and doing that clapping game to it. Mad.
