I couldn't see if this was up or not. I realise it's a expensive time for all at the moment  but the medical system in the USA appears to be for billionaires only.

Norm Breyfogle worked with Alan Grant on some fantastic Batman comics.

I'm sure we all wish him a speedy recovery.

Megazine / Meg 323 The Adjudicators.

Really good. Excellent cover by Mark Harrison. Dredd story The Ajudicators is one of the best -satirising capes (just in time for a certain superhero movie perhaps) yet also a fun read. Ezquerra triumphs again and Simon Spurrier's script sparkles. Samizdat Squad makes a welcome return with PJ Holden on art duties and it's a fine b&w/greytone opening to the new story. A crab/ train mecha at the end  -cool!

An article with Mark Millar ( for it is he) in which admits writing some of the worst 2000AD stories ever. However there's more on his latest works and why War Heroes ain't round for the moment.

Strange continues well but the ending seemed a bit abrupt.

A q&a with Bryan Hitch as well.

Even a certain Grant Goggans (of these 'ere boards) in the letters pages.

Other Reviews / Insurrection TPB

Yay! It's here!  Having missed some of the early episodes I gorged on part 1. There's also some extras at the back Colin Macneil sketches and what looks like  Dan (Abnett) and Colin (Macneils') original "pitch" to the editor.

And they jokingly had it originally down as  "Rebellion"...

The story simply roars along with no or little window dressing, art just as stunning as I remembered. A lovely early Christmas present.

It's here! And a fine meg too.

Dredd was a superb James Bond spoof with Liam Sharp and Al Ewing now on MI6's double oh/ most wanted list.
The accuracy of the Bonds was astounding even Craigs craggy ugly face was recognisable.

The new stuff was fine 2000ad vintage Samizdat Squad with b&w art by Paul Marshall makes it a win,a good interview with Liam Sharp and Lilly Mckenzie still going strong.

best of all at last Insurrection 2- a unusual start but I can see why they did it and the best illo of a sjs prison over a gas giant you're ever likely to see.

Nice One Dan Abnett and Colin Macneil.

A Bryan Talbot piece on Grandville as well which I haven't read as yet.

Toast the revolution indeed.

heaven forbid I should re-surrect an old thread and as I got the dreaded 120 days warning I thought I'd start a new 'un.

Got this for £6.30 on download and as I'd never read it and remember hearing good thngs about it I thought I'd try.

Bloody hell this sort of thing ( a secret govt dept for occult investigations) has been done a few times before and yet...this was just marvelous.

The art is my personal joy  pure unsullied b&w art by Dom Reardon and it just captures the bonkers nature of the whole thing very well.

The story itself by Gordon Rennie is excellent too and so different in that way only 2000Ad is. A SPOILER ALERT -almost certainly demonic, thinly veiled version of David Bowie hires some occult experts after buying up the secret govt dept. Cue horror on the underground and triangles of death and sacrifice.   

I think my only annoyance was the story arc ended a bit abruptly and I wanted the odious Ravne to meet some unpleasant end but he didn't. Oh well. It is 2000AD after all.
