Matt, mate....

I remember those scenes made pretty uncomfortable viewing at the time.  Racist covers it pretty well.

I'd not have been able to afford them if the spreads were colour - I don't think I'm alone.

I'd be up for the ones mentioned here....  Very cool and it'd be fun to work them out too.

I suppose we could ask Pat on Twitter/Facebook about this?  He's actually quite forthcoming with sensible questions - so long as there aren't tons of them I guess.

I feel the same way.  But seeing as I'm about to move to a much smaller home *fingers crossed* I just don't have any space for them.  In an odd way I'll be glad to see them go and they give me an excuse to get more trades.  Which I will ACTUALLY reread (unlike the progs).

Radiator's right - lose the progs and megs and you've got THAT much more space for the good stuff.

Thanks Matt for running this, another classic with many good entries.  And thanks also to everyone for entering.

Congratulations to Krom, Emcee, Dr X & Lady F - well deserved.

I like the inflated helmet look, kinda fun.

Regarding your space.  Other than the ones I mention, there's nothing truly essential to Tour of Duty in print.  Grab those and wait for the Case Files?  Not ideal I realise, but it's affordable.  Well, MORE affordable.

The "Complete" PJ Maybe (well, it was complete at the time I guess) and The Henry Flint Collection have most of PJ's stuff in.  Reckon "Emphatically Evil" and such will be in the first Tour of Duty trade.

Mechanismo springs to mind as a total Meg collection.  As does the woeful (but still worthwhile for MacNeil, Hicklenton et al) Heavy Metal Dredd.

I think that if a story is decent, they'll reprint it.  Simple as that.  Errecting an artificial line between Twoth & Meg originating material seems daft.  There's not as much good stuff from the Meg which is why it might come as a shock.

Oh, shit. Gordon Rennie agreed with me. I must be a terrible person.  ;)
*smirk*

I always felt it was a missed opportunity.  The Exchange & Mart comparison is harsh, but I feel fair.  It could have been a brilliant magazine, but it was so difficult to READ.  Bleeding Cool, amusingly enough, is actually much MORE interesting - and like the rest of the web, it's free.  Can't argue with that.
