Help! / Re: Xbox 360?
03 December, 2011, 02:02:30 AM
I've had a recurring YLOD on my newish PS3, yet never had RLOD on my ancient brick of an XBox 360.
The bottom line; they don't build em like the Commodore 64 any more, old son.

Can't believe no ones mentioned Scott Snyder's 'Severed' yet...best new comic I've read in a long time, genuinely- and I mean genuinely- disturbing and intriguing in equal measure.
Also, as Mandroid previously stated- 'Locke & Key' is simply comic bliss...I've devoured every issue of it.
If you're looking for old skool local genius, pretty much anything by Bryan Talbot is a sure fire bet.
His 'Heart of Empire' was so good it actually changed the way neurons worked in my brain.

Games / Re: Dredd vs Zombies on iPhone/iPad

I always hated the fact that 2000AD didn't have more games based on its characters, and at that the ones that were released were generally tosh (apart from that Rogue Trooper one for the Wii a few years back).
This is great fun, and at €0.79 you couldn't afford not to buy it!
This kinda stuff is exactly what we need- cheap, accessible nuggets that will get more people interested in 2000AD...

'Real-Time' aging Mega-City One is easily one of the biggest selling points of the whole franchise and I wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING.

Hey Dude, I hear ya- I wasnt complaining about that aspect to the strip, I dig that too...just maybe that Dredds age does detract a little bit from the 'reality' of the story. I mean, I'm in my early 30's- I think Dredd took the pre-Necropolis long walk when I was around 11 years old- and it seemed feasible to me even back then!

Wish to Grud they'd bring Prager back again- c'mon, there's gotta be a little more mileage in a werewolf Judge, eh?

Maybe the biggest 'mistake' relating to Dredd is his parallel ageing to real world time...Grud, even poor oul Judge Minty was a wet-backed whippersnapper compared to grampa Joe!

Dear Lettersentertainyou fans, it's unadulterated thrill to see that our guilty pleasure has resurfaced, even more so that it's a forum thread I'm actually allowed respond to.
Buttonman, my dear, dear fellow- one must wonder if you don't have a secret Foodwillentertainyou forum in operation on a Ready Steady Cook website or some such....?
Here's to reading the critical mauling of all 2000AD's Quality Correspondents whenever The Mighty One deems it financially viable to include a letters page in our favourite publication.

I've shamefully let a Saturday morning- afternoon hangover scupper my plans to attend my first ever convention...next year I guess.
Anything else happening around Dublin this year?

Ps- yer new Dredd strip in the Meg is freakin sweet Mike!

Merci Mr. Clements, was just about to throw this useless iPad against the wall when I noticed a fellow forum user had the same issue as I.
Guess I'll have to post more often, but I'm afraid I can offer no assurances regarding my mental faculties...
