Im happy to keep the directors cut as the definitive version of the film and i like to think of Deckard as a replicant. Saying that, though i never thought id accept a sequel, the calibre of the director and the new trailer suggest i should at least give it a chance...the trailer looked pretty good.

I feel exactly the same. Also feel better knowing Scott isn't directing this one after the disappointment in the sequel to his other great sci-fi film. Every time I watch Prometheus I seem find more things I dont like.

I thought it was excellent. Perfect amount of old and new, nice nudges and winks (
hello Chopper!
). I thought the cast did a great job, the set pieces were superb, the camera work was as I was expecting from Edwards (the first proper Wars movie in the franchise?!).

Vader was top, his "choke" line was fitting with the character IMO, Anakin in Clone Wars always had his one liners and puns so it seems right that it would continue albeit much darker in tone when he was Vader, he was always one to toy with his prey across the original trilogy and more recently Rebels. The CGI for those "two things" wasn't perfect but my 11 year old turned around to the wife when
Leia
was on screen and said
"How did they make her young?!"
, so I'd say it did job well. In fact I think nearly every element of the film was well pulled off, I did miss Williams' music if I'm honest but we all know that Williams isn't going to be doing Star Wars films forever so have to get used it sooner or later. My "couldnt care less about Star Wars" missus enjoyed it also and said it was good to have something different rather than the ever ongoing story of the Skywalkers. I thought it was also very ballsy for Disney to allow for
everyone to be killed off
, especially when you consider their Marvel franchise exists
for returning characters
. I need to watch it a few more times but I feel like I preferred this over Force Awakens, it certainly had more original ideas which shouldn't have been the case when Force Awakens should be all new sequel and this is a prequel set up which we all knew how (or thought we did) went down.

Oh I also like that the film filled in the plot hole of A New Hope of
why the Empire would build a Death Star with such a simple way to take it down with one lucky shot; it was intentional.
Congrats! - really enjoyed their reboot Aphrodite/ Cyberforce stuff too. Good slice of sci-fi.

Star Wars Rebels - Season 3
I hated Clone Wars simply out of reverence to the excellent Genndy Tartakovsky series - I thought it was flabby, I thought it was pointless. Rebels however charts unknown ground and is thrilling for it - often visually quite stunning (although their Plasticine hair is distracting) and after Season 2's unexpectedly jarring finalé
where Darth Maul shows up and Ahsoka Tano is finally sadly felled by her former master
it has gained an unlikely edge of genuine drama to it. Occasionally oversimplified for the intended audience but quite engaging. Really didn't expect to grow to like this quite as much as I have. ALSO TOM BAKER.

I still loathe the prequel films but thoroughly enjoy Clone Wars, there really is some cracking episodes across the run exploring the deeper mythology stuff and just cool one shot shows. Surprised how much I like Clone Wars as none of the proper film depictions of the same characters appealed to me (and I hated the Clone Wars film they did, that was beyond awful with Jabba's son, 90 minutes of cringe, the animation wasn't even finished either, the choice to do a film before they had mastered the animation software is mind blowing).

I think Rebels is generally great but I think Clone Wars still my favourite of the two, which is surprising as Rebels is my choice of Star Wars era. We're only two seasons in (gonna wait for Season 3 blu ray so I can marathon them) so my opinion might change by the end of the run but Clone Wars did produce some quality TV that's worth going back over even for the most cynical anti-prequel trilogy fan.

I really like what that team does, long may Dave Filoni and co. continue with Lucasfilm animation.

Hi All, seeing as Thought Bubble is rolling round again, that means that there are new issues inbound for FutureQuake, Dogbreath, Something Wicked AND ZArjaz.

Package Holiday from FQ25 by Andi Ewington & Conor Boyle

So to try and clear some room I'm reminding folks that back issues of FutureQuake & something Wicked are all £2.50 each (a price drop of up to £1.50 per issue in some cases)

Zarjaz & Dogbreath are such strotnig value that we aren't able to drop their prices.

Head over to The FQP Shop and either pick yourself a single issue bargain from the issues available or PM me to get multiple issues with combined postage!

Also, for those who prefer digital comics, FQP have got a few titles out on Comixology, including the very first issue we did.
Oh nice. Consider all of those comixology titles bought!

IDW has a half price sale on Comixology using "IDW" as a code takes off 50%. Because the IDW horror sale is on you can get half price on top of titles already vastly reduced, just bought Remains collection (amongst £14 of other stuff) for £1.

And Anderson is older and wrinkly but just projects a psychic image of her younger self into willing minds. She's doing some kind of inception trick so the East Meg judges think they have the launch codes but obviously get something badderer.

Are Judge's not entitled to free face lifts/ replacements as part of the perks?  ;)

Finished Star Wars Aftermath - the worst Star Wars novel I have ever read.

I read the sample on my kindle and soooo glad I didn't buy it,i heard many poor reviews but the thing that grated me was the weird way it was written like a poor film script?

wedge is a pilot he is sitting in his ship, he pops open his pringles and starts to eat them.

just couldn't get used to the style... ihear "lost stars" is miles better even though its in the young adult section (of which I am neither)

I have been enjoying "new dawn" again which shows how kanan and hera from 'rebels' first meet.
Also ploughing through the star wars ...along time ago trades dark horse put out of the old marvel comics ,
the third and fourth of which are my favourites , and a spilt brew ruined 1 and 2 so i'll have to procure them again, the fifth one is dire.

On every level the book is poor, the characters are wooden and un-interesting (much like the dialogue), the story takes hundreds of pages to go nowhere, the writing as you mention is workman like to the extreme - someone enters a non-descript room, completes an action, queue next scene.

It's like LucasBooks thought up the idea of a post-ROTJ novel but didn't want anyone to progress the Star Wars story forward in any meaningful way so got a cheap sub-standard writer to chuck something together.

The thing cost me £6.99 too, biggest let down. Have cancelled all the other Star Wars books I had on pre-order to wait on reviews. I have been un-impressed with the new canon books but Aftermath really was the straw that broke the donkey's back.

I have New Dawn but not read it yet! Think I will have a break from Star Wars universe for a while now :)

Most way through "Hitler's Last Witness: The Memoirs of Hitler's Bodyguard" by Rochus Misch - title says it all really. Was 70p for the Kindle version. Good read if history is your cuppa.

Whst about Dark Disciple? You read thst one yet?

I did. I enjoyed it right up until they end when they do that thing they always seem to do with female characters.. for drama. It was nice to see that Ventress got some needed depth its just a shame the character arc ended like that and I ended up thinking I wish I never bothered. Started off at a four star novel, ended up being a two.

I am audibly sighing in the office thinking about it..... *sigh*
