General / Gene Colan Auction!
29 May, 2008, 10:27:59 PM
Hey guys,

Right, Rufus and I didn't want this news to get buried in the Event section, so we're bringing it up again.

Legendary artist Gene Colan is suffering from liver failure. His good friend Cliff Meth has arranged a charity auction featuring a ton of signed books and original art, with more to come from some big names.

I've contributed the original art of page 1 for next week's Defoe, Brethren of the Night(a nice, moody zombie page), and also a pencilled Justice League Unlimited page I did for DC Licencing.

Rufus is due to contribute some cool stuff as well.

Check out Cliff's blog for the details, and links straight to the auction here:

Cheers guys!

Hey Rufus,

I emailed your guy a while back about donating some art but never got any reply.

What do you want me to do?

Cheers for the heads up Rufus.

Colan's Tomb of Dracula is still a huge inspiration for me, as I love black and white horror comics, and it only feels right to help him out.

I've just emailed your buddy about contributing a drawing.

Thanks

Well BJ PJ, you clearly won by a mile mate.

I had a great time in Aberdeen, sold a few pieces of old DC work, but the draw of your musky stench proved too irresistable for the fans...

Email me your address and I shall send you that king sized Snicker bar.

Well played sir, well played.

Cheers Peterwolf. I'm doing my best to make sure it looks better than the first book!

Cheers guys!I appreciate it.

Yeah, I've had Book 2's script for a while. Had to design a pile of new characters for it, and I'm working on Episode one now. Also recently handed in my first Defoe cover in full colour to Tharg, that will be out next summer to accompany Book 2.

Gutted I won't be signing your arse Cosh.

Well I'm guessing, I'll be there the whole day doodling as it's taking me nearly 7 hours to get there the day before.

Crap. Had no idea there was a game on as well.

PJ, bonus points if we get to sign a woman's chest.Or man boobs.

That's just dirty....though I will trim down there just in case...

I just remembered, our very own BJ PJ is doing his own signing in Belfast on the same day!!!

PJ, I think we should use a tally system that day to see who has the most visitors. The winner recieves a king size Snicker bar.

May the best man win.

Hey guys,

If you happen to be in the Aberdeen area, and aren't going to Dublin to hug Mark Millar and Jim Lee, I've been very kindly invited to hang out at ASYLUM BOOKS AND GAMES this Saturday.

I'll be sketching ,signing, and selling bits of work, but if you just wanna say hi and admire my hair or something, it'll be great to see you!
