Well done that man!  Happy birthday from the Irish contingent - we shall be around shortly to bring you your present so our unwashed children can rob your house during the distraction.

I not understand - is McKenzie's work creator-owned or otherwise off-limits to other writers?

I waltzed through Mirror's Edge to the point that I went through the last three levels in one sitting without carking once, and wondered if I'd missed something after the bit with the chopper seeing as it just seemed to end.
Bionic Commando is a tad too exacting and promotes frustration - the loading issues don't help, either.

Thirded.  Face-punchingly annoying.

Quote from: "The monarch"I did used to go to glasgows store until their pathetic filing system lost me far too many comics and I just said screw that

An oddly familiar story: is their filing system by any chance "throw stuff in a cubby-hole but take it out again to give to mates, fill other standing orders, or just to read it myself if I don't fancy walking to the shelves"?

Right-click on an avatar already on the board and save the image to your pc.  Open it in an art program and then paste your image over the top of it and resize it until it fits.  Flatten and save, then upload to the board.

I got my first PS2 in 2001, but I didn't see the point of it as it just seemed to be supported by a catalogue of flashier racing games, which I find dull (with the exception of Pure).  Then GTA3 came out and the 300 quid spent on the PS2 finally justified itself.
That thing with the planes bummed me out - not least because it led to the creation of the film World Trade Center and the continuing career of Dennis Leary.  Of the three of these things, I'm not sure which will go down in history as being more horrid.

I tried playing this, but it seemed too effeminate for my tastes.

Didn't Aintitcool slag off the BSG pilot something rotten, though?
That trailer also reminds me heavily of Earth: Final Conflict, with the media-savvy aliens controlling the press and people worshipping them for their healing powers and technology.  That had more or less the same story progression as the original V, but with with action standing rather than blokes running around shooting lasers.

Kathryn Immomen is writing Runaways, Cornell is writing the Young Avengers 'Dark Reign' tie-in miniseries.
I wouldn't mind seeing him do Young Avengers as an ongoing, but Runaways has always favored a certain stop/start/soundbite method of writing that makes even some of the earlier issues look rather dated already - and they were only published in 2004.

It makes me think of the Flash Gordon tv series of a year or two back - and I don't think it helps that it looks really cheap.  Professional tv sponds should be at the point now where they know what works visually for the budget they've allocated, otherwise it suggests either low standards, or amateur hour in the production office.
Calling them 'The V's' is a bit too forced for my taste, too.

Quote from: "Tiplodocus"After all, you have access to the internet and unlimited supplies of porn and *some* of you stop long enough to read comics (or) type in comments on this forum

I can't speak for anyone else, but I have two hands.
DS9 excelled TNG for the non-action episodes, I thought - The Visitor being the best example - but also surpassed other Trek for outright action-oriented stuff like The Siege Of AR559 or Nor The Battle To The Strong - where it was different to see one of a show's main characters was a yellowbelly without being comic relief.
