"Mind you I would also have liked to see the episodes of Bonjo From Beyond the Stars or whatever it was that filled up the blank half-pages"

All the half-pages you're talking about were advertisments.

Bonjo ran from progs 42-50, but was only ever at the end of a single JD episode (prog 50: The First Lunar Olympics).  Not sure if it was a half-page or not - I'd have to dig out the back prog.

Good point - hasn't reprinting Inferno been banned by the UN?

Oh, and I need to use the word 'conjecture' a lot more on the fan-site.

The key thread you missed is Inspector Absolam and his as yet unknown deal with Demon Jenny.

Amstor, re Kostabi - my personal theory / reading / conjecture:

"Ethan Kostabi" fell to Earth in 4000BC.
I've no idea what happened to his original physical presence, but he now survives by body-hopping.

He body-hopped into Emmanuel Konterman, and thereafter into the young David Smith, renaming him Ethan Kostabi (same initials as Emmanuel - but that could be coincidence).

His similarity in looks to the original fallen angel version is either coincidental or some side-effect of his long-term possession.

But, frankly, your guess is as good as mine.

Tee hee.

I defend Slaine when I think it's warranted - but that dialogue just seemed ... wrong.

Why should Slaine give a demon's fart about some shoggy being killed, anyway?  And what is this new world he lives in, where demonic otherworldly creatures walk hand-in-hand with humans?

It's almost like an alternity Slaine, really - none of the backstory figures in.  Back in the day, if some dude had taken his head off in front of him, Slaine would've decked him for being an El.

Anyway - rah rah rah.  It's only a comic.

An angel cast down from heaven in 4000BC?  Eek.

Byron Virgo'll be happy, anyway - he always liked Howard Slater.

With him floating in the tank there - does that count as a Star Wars reference?

The rest of the prog the same as it has been for the past couple:  strong.

Favourite quote:  "Go away or we rip off arms and legs."

Best thing in the prog: that vibrant Boo da Cookster cover!

Worst thing in the prog: clunky dialogue in Slaine.

Replying to spam just flags you up as an active email account - and therefore a hot target for more spam.

Get a spam filter instead.

(I do wish my keyboard had an "execute all spammers in the universe" button, though.)

Aye, Noisy - I did - have applied the tiles (which are perfect).  No screenshots yet, as I've been toying with overlapping hexes by 1-pixel and I'm trying to iron out the math to make sure it doesn't balls up the hex-locator code.

The skull-hex got me thinking about scale.  In Panzer General, each hex represents about 25km (if memory serves), in Advance Wars, I have no idea - because it's more cartoony and doesn't really matter (and it probably uses squares).

But, yeah, I don't know what kind of scale I should go for with Mega Wars.  Come to think of it, how big's a sector?  See, if each hex was a sector-size, then it would be possible to fight The Apocalypse War as one (still pretty huge) level.

But I think the scale should be slightly smaller than a sector.  Anyone out there know how big a Sector is in MC-1?

Yes, noisy.

However, it's going to take a long time to get a Version 1.0 up and running.  Am currently at the stage of getting the mouse to tell me which hexagon it's sitting on.

I could already draw a map, if I had sexy Mega-City and Cursed Earth tiles (in the style of blank hex tiles.
