Grant Goggans

Were there any panels at this con?  Did anybody catch any announcements at all?

LGDROID

Sorry Grant, no announcements I'm afraid. There was originally supposed to be a 2000AD panel, which would have been cool, but it seemed to have been dropped by the organizers in favour for Al and mines workshop.

COMMANDO FORCES

Was any of this filmed in any way what so ever so we can see what went on. I did see the bit about the Guardian filming Clint but can't find anything on the web.

LGDROID

There may be a few minutes of our workshop somewhere but I'll let you know if I find it mate. No idea when the Guardian footage will be up. It'd be a bloody crime if it never was...

There's some really ropey footage of Al and his booming vocals on Karaoke here:

If it doesn't work, just look up his name on Youtube.

Al Ewing does Barry White - is there no end to the man's talents? :)

Mike Gloady

That Ewing droid.  Were you to cut him in two, he'd have "ENTERTAINER" written through him like Brighton Rock.

Come on Dweezil2, we need an in depth report on this event. I saw a bit on Meridian News on Friday that showed James Marsters signing and the Tardis with a bloke who thought he was David Tennant. Can't remember the rest.
So come on, full report plus pictures if you would be so kind!

Pretty good couple of days Commando Forces, slightly marred by having to queue for over 3 hours to meet Tom Baker for an autograph, so much so I missed Dave Gibbons and the comic strip to movie panel, although Tom Baker's stint on stage, which I caught, was hilarious and bizarre and in equal measures-especially his anecdotes on his serious badger problem, the gravestone with his name on it, who someone scrawled tosser on and Jon Pertwee's heart attack induced by his nightmare of buying a large round of drinks for five people.
Overall it was worth it just to meet the Gallagher and Langley droids and get those lovely sketches.
I'll try and post some pictures up soon, including obligatory Darth Vader shot.

having to queue for over 3 hours to meet Tom Baker for an autograph,

That was slightly longer than the time I queued up at the EXCEL with Sam, just to get in. Still I just wandered over to Tom and had an excellent chat without any queue what so ever!

The Baker!

And yes, that is an ABC Warriors T-Shirt I have underneath.

Excellent pics, did you manage to have a chat with Tom and also I wonder if a 2000AD fan won Clint and Leigh's artworks and if not I wonder what auction site they end up on!

Yeah, the signings were pretty poorly organised and there were a fair few punters who were loosing there patience having to queue for so long. Tom Baker and the lovely Elizabeth Sladen never lost their good grace and charm though-so credit to them.
