Wuthering Heights by The Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain

I saw the UOGB at a festival couple of years back, they were bloody amazing.

Charlie boy

A fraction of the budget compared to the Broadway show but still managing to look like the better of the two...

Mudcrab

Warning: metal cover of a pop song   ;)

Was reminded of this by Joe and Bonnie Swanson's song in a recent Family Guy episode...

Robot Zombie Army - Africa (Toto)

Marvellous  :D

NEGOTIATION'S OVER!

Anyone ever hear Gammaray's version of It's a sin?

Also.. Not a cover per se: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tor8hZiOvMg
You have never felt pain until you've trodden barefoot on an upturned lego brick..

Mikey

That's aces Michael!

Here's a few from me;

No night out in the jail
Haven't heard the original but this is lush.

Keep on movin'

Into the Void
A reasonably straight take, but done with aplomb and suitable new words. I've got the 12" etched vinyl, me!

In the pines

This is better than the original

No one mentioned this yet? For shame!

Not best cover version by far, but where else can I put this, but this version (I really hate typing this as it goes against everything I believe about boy bands) has me realising that Gary Barlow has a great voice. Still not a patch on Justin Hayward.

Drokking since 1972

Peace is a lie, there's only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.

Hendrix awesome
loveforstitch - Does he fall in love? I like a little romance in all my movies.

Rekaert - Yes, he demonstrates it with bullets, punches and sentencing.

He's Mega City 1's own Don Juan.

Heath C Ackley

Another truly beautiful song:

I don't know how I forgot it the first time around.
"Give a man a mask and he will give you the truth."

Hmm. Far as I can tell no one's yet mentioned THIS so I can only presume y'all prefer The Crickets' version.
Not sure if pervert or cheesecake expert.

I've never heard that original before. Class.

It's hard to know what to think about this one. I've never heard the original and jazz always seems to be about building on other people's themes anyway. I've been listening to it a lot this weekend and I love it: The MC5 - Starship.
We never really die.

For me, The Clash cover tops the original (and, for that matter, this version by The Bobby Fuller Four) 'cuz the punk swagger makes it a whole lot funnier. But, yeah. Class.

Oh, and whilst we're at it, there's also this by The William Fairey Brass Band:

What Time is Love?
Not sure if pervert or cheesecake expert.

Fuck ME if I couldn't have constructed that segue any worse. Kick Out the JAMMs, fothermuckers.
