Did anyone notice that Barney has been "hacked". You get directed to a site about tents.
When I die, I want to die like my grandfather who died peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in his car.

Old age is the Lord's way of telling us to step aside for something new. Death's in case we didn't take the hint.

Just had a quick look and seems to be fine for me?

Have you been looking at tent porn again?

broodblik

Damn you caught me again with my hand in the cookie jar

Oh, I know this one!

You have to be careful to use http only to access Barney.

http://www.2000ad.org/

And NOT the https version, which takes you to the dodgy tent pr0n site.  If you try to get to the https version, my browser throws up a security alert and warns against data theft. Probably best avoided.

Some links these days get auto-converted to https by security conscious systems, and then you can end up in odd places. Not sure why real Barney doesn't own his own https address, but there you go.

I see thanks. But my browser force it to https every time so it is only tent action for me

1. What browser are you using? (I'm using Chrome on a desktop PC and it doesn't do that.)
2. Can't you re-type the http:// part in the address bar to force the issue?

---

If someone were actively curating the site, I'd be tempted to tell them about the problem. But when Barney went offline earlier in the year it clearly wasn't top priority so I don't know how much traction you'd get in that direction.

AFAIK, Barney runs on a server in the Command Module.

Yeah I contacted Wake - who set it all up, but as I recall all he could do was work with the folks at Rebellion. Which he did and he did some other web-fu as I recall - might be misremembering ...

It is working fine under Opera using http

Opera is a good workaround.

For "repairing" your Chrome experience...

There's an article about it here: https://superuser.com/questions/565409/how-to-stop-an-automatic-redirect-from-http-to-https-in-chrome

It's to do with browser cache stuff, apparently.
